The Central Running Scared Dragons
Yes as Ham stated this all takes effect in 2007 the crawl line under the picture that says they've played their last LHAC game is incorrect. So the powers that be in the LHAC have time to figure it out. Heck one easy solution would be just kick Cambria Heights out and go with 10 teams, they want out anyhow so just accommodate them and let them worry about where they are gonna play. I know this isn't very nice and fair but life isn't either.
In reality though they may have to change their all sports attitude, and let some people in who would be interested in football only.

Personally, I'd like to see Portage take their place. Many close rivalries- FH, BC, PC, CC, although they are only an A, they would match up well with most in the LHAC.

I am a big fan of the Mustangs, but for them to join the LHAC would be disastrous
Re: The Central Running Scared Dragons
As a father of a senior Central football player, I have had the opportunity to see my son play 5 years on the LHAC. There is no doubt what so ever in my mind, that him having to playing in this conference has made him a better football player and overall individual. There are very few local conferences were he would have had the opportunity to compete against current, and most certainly future, Division 1-A athletes. Thus, very early on he realized that if he wanted to be competitive, he would have to make an individual long-term commitment to increase both his physical capabilities and fundamental skills required for the game. In addition, he learned to not only respect and admire his fellow players and coaches, but also the players whom he played against.
As far as Cental leaving the conference, these decisions are made by school administrators and not voted upon by the players. The sad fact is that it will be many years before Central can or will be competitive in any football conference. Having played 6 years at NBC when the football program had been allowed to deteriorate due to total mismanagement by the administration, I know how hard it is to turn a program around. But, it can be done, but it will take time.
While some may laugh and look down at Central's record this year, there is no doubt in my mind that this team was much more competitive than prior years. During the season Cental lost 4 games by a combined total of 24 points. All that I can ask of my son is to do his very best and to let it all on the field. In this respect, I am proud of he and others on the team.
Good luck to all the teams in the LHAC who have made the post season play-offs. I certainly hope to see some of your teams at Hershey.

Good post PSUUSAF. What you said was very collective and true. Central has noticably gotten better from thier first year in the conference. It's tough for a new team to get used to it, but you can only get better if you'd stick around. The school administration isn't the only people in charge. It's a public school, so go petition the school to stay in.
I don't know why they would want to get out. Look at the D6AA playoff... most of the teams are from the LHAC. When you guys have a good record and make the playoffs by playing a LHAC schedule, you will know that you belong there (ask CR).
OH... and if they want to leave... they should have to find a replacement befor ethey do. Why let one team mess up the whole schedule? We need a trainee.

PAUUSAF, Very good post and let me apologize if I came off as cutting on the kids, that was never my intent. I know these types of decisions are made by the Administration, AD and Coach and any digs were made at them. I agree this years Central team was greatly improved and probably should have won a couple of those close games.
And trapperbd I'm not 100% sure but I believe it was either Central or BC that came in when Ridge left or maybe both because I think Johnstown Vo- tech left at the same time. Like I said not sure if anyone knows for sure let us know.

I think Ligonier Valley, Johnstown Vo-Tech and Chestnut Ridge were replaced by Central, Johnstown and Bishop Carroll and it officially occurred in 2001.
