Re: district 5
Congratulations to Ashley Wilson for placing 20th and winning a state medal. This quite an accomplishment and hope more attention is paid to this achievement than what place the D5 boys team placed. The Bedford girls finished 14th out of 24 as a team.
On the D6 side, Seymour did win, holding off a charging freshman from Harborcreek. Not sure what happened to Gibson. Seymour took control from the start and Gibson was 2nd, but a good bit behind her. Somehow Gibson went from 2nd to 48th in the last mile and looked just horrible. She was not the runner she was early in the year. Central Cambria girls finished 6th and McCort was 22nd.
On the boys side, Travis Dean ran a very strong race and finished 6th. This was the 6th straight year a Westmont boy has won a medal at states. Seeing how Dean is just a junior, it should continue for next year. Shane Simmons of CC also placed 25th. Another pre-race favorite, Jake Walker of Ellwood city, faded late in the race to finish 4th. Good call by Old School and predicting Dunkleberger to win. He ran a very smart race. Walker and Zarcezny were well ahead of the pack a half mile into the race, but Dunkleberger stayed back and reeled them in late. Penns Valley was 12th and CC was 19th.

Re: district 5
Bisonline, I would just like to say, that i didn't sit there and wait for the results to come in, i was at the meet. And yes congrats to Ashley, Travis, and Shane for being awarded all state medals, that is quite an accomplishment, especially for Shane and Ashley, because they seemingly came out of nowhere to get those medals. Congrats to both!
