BCS; USC, Texas, Miami, The Pennsylvania State University
Nobody would want to watch Miami PSU. When I say nobody, I mean nobody in comparison to a Notre Dame and Penn State match-up. Two history filled, rich traditions football programs. IIt might have more people tune into that match-up than what the Texas-USC game would. Both teams follow greatly, both would be easy easy easy sells for the Fiesta Bowl. I hear Tempe is nice this time of year...

Stevie Wonder would like to see the Miami-PSU matchup.

Frostlion brings up a good point. It would be nice to see Penn State beat up on Florida State, for a few reasons.
But, that is not the game PSU players or supporters should want. We need to get in there with a team who is striking fear into people, for whatever reason. That is basically USC, Texas, Miami, or Notre Dame. USC and UT will play eachother, so that leaves Miami and Notre Dame. In all honesty, after seeing PSU, Miami, and ND play MULTIPLE, MULTIPLE times (not on ESPN play by play, or "seeing them" on Yahoo Radio) I think Penn State can beat both of those teams. The thing is that they both throw the ball a good bit. Penn State can beat ND because Notre Dame's defense is still suspect. Miami's D is very, very good, and does kind of worry me a little bit.
The point that needs to be made is that for PSU to be "back", they need to take on and defeat a quality opponent. To be the man, you have got to beat the man. There were too many questions being raised about Alabama, and I think even the solid Alabama defense would have a lot of trouble stopping PSU offensively. You don't want an already-questionable PSU team taking on and defeating someone else who is maybe suspect in the eyes of the public.
The entire SEC is overrated this year, and PSU could beat LSU as well. I have seen LSU many times this season, and yes they are pretty good, they really make a lot of stupid mistakes on both sides of the ball. I keep hearing about how great Bo Pellini is, and I really do not see it. If that guy gets a head job, whatever program he takes over is going to suffer because of it. He is the defensive Gary Crowdon: good coach, but not head-coaching material. As for Virginia Tech, their DC is getting a lot of praise as well, but that staff chokes all the time. His defenses are soft at least once a year, and it costs them. I don't know if it's poor preperation, or poor adjustments during pressure situations, but that guy is going to flop as hard as Pellini. You stop Vick, you stop Tech. Penn State can beat Virginia Tech, too.
In case anyone forgot, Pellini was the man behind the OU debacle last year against USC, and the constant fact that his secondaries are always suspect.
Back on track, I think it would be good for the NCAA (monetarily) to have PSU and ND matched up, especially since the Lions are playing them early next year. That makes for some drama, and dram equals ratings. When you add the fact that those teams have a history together, and are storied programs, it makes the money fall into the piggy bank. Hopefully PSU can beat them, because if Quinn stays, it might be a long afternoon for that secondary next season.

TAE, why didn't you just say that PSU should be National Champions. In your eyes, they can beat anyone. You didn't need you rlong explanation that didn't mean anything. Notre Dame would beat PSU. I hope they're matched up, so you can see it on your ESPN Gameplan. Oh wait, it doesn't carry bowl games.

He shot his mouth off about our picks, did his picks once, and quit.
Maybe you can catch the UT-USC game on ESPN Play by Play. You'll have to guess, though, who is running the ball, Bush or White, since everyone is a little football.
