Do the Catholic schools recruit ???
Re: Do the Catholic schools recruit ???
I didn't see Waddley's name mentioned. Or either of the Jones' boys. Or Scott Lewis. You know, sometimes you only need ONE or TWO players to put the icing on the cake for a good team to be great. So if 90% of the team came up thru the ranks, that leaves 10% that didn't. How'd they get there? Were they enticed? Did they transfer on their own for athletic reasons?

Re: Do the Catholic schools recruit ???
yes actually the jones boys, and lewis was mentioned.....read the posts...and also how much affect can Wadley have on a team when he's out for grades. No i give the kid alotta respect for the catch in the Tyrone game and i think he's a terrific player but he's not dependable. McCort still won games without him! Yes he may be "the icing on the cake" but he's not the reason McCort is 9-2 and in the D6 championship. Remeber the old saying.....No I in TEAM well there isn't one in McCort either!!!! oooh and soo far u have one player that didn't grow up in a highly religions background or was forced to play at mCCort because of racial reason etc. So (and i'll humor the idea that McCort recruits) with 60 people on the team ...thats 1.6% influence by possibly recruited players. El-Moldo ur entire argument is distroyed and i bid u good day. ......I SAID GOOD DAY!!!
hehehe i love that 70's show

Re: Do the Catholic schools recruit ???
Nice point i didn't think about that...cause if he was a recruit then there has to be some kinda contract...so that would break the contract and he wouldn't get any money so not only would he be off the team but he would have to leave McCort...plus if he was a recruit then the grades would probably be a void of contract too...face it El-moldy and everyone that says McCort recruits.....UR WRONG and STUPID!!!
Re: Do the Catholic schools recruit ???
They were NOT mentioned by fairweather9 in his last post. And again, do non-catholic athletes get a break in their tuition, when the tuition for non-catholics to attend McCort is MORE than for catholics. Wouldn't this be a form of recruiting if they got to pay less? You know, if you live in West Virginia, you pay less to attend WVU than if you are from out of state. That's the type of system McCort has based on religion. Not a Catholic, you pay more. If they don't, then that's special treatment akin to recruiting. And if alumni give them money toward their "education" expenses, then that's like coaches in college paying for a plane ticket for a player to fly home for christmas. Not kosher. Sorry, but there is more to recruiting than calling a kid and begging him to come to your school. Give me a list of non-catholics on McCort's roster and we'll discuss THAT.

Well, im sorry to prove you wrong but I just thought if your going to post about something then at least know what you are talking about. The Hawkins/Jones family is extremely religious...they sent all the kids up through St. Patricks in Moxham. Myron Coleman also went up through the system at West End Catholic in the West End section of Johnstown. The Cruz's came up through, the only exception i can think of are the Lewis brothers, but their Dad works for the Altoona-Johnstown catholic school system. Ive also heard that they had some racial troubles up in Forest Hills so they pulled Shawn out and Scott had a choice. Recruited? Doesnt sound like it to me.

Re: Do the Catholic schools recruit ???
So ur saying that every single catholic person that attends a coatholic high school is recruited because they pay less money? wow glad to hear that McCort is officially recruiting every female catholic in the area to come play football. You have NO basis for your argument and ur beginning to lose any and all respect i had for u and ur previous posts that actually contained germane and intelligent counterpoints. Why can't u just accept that McCort has a good team that comes out strong every year and that iyt's becausre of good coaching and hard work. No other teams integrity has been in question like this. I think the real reason is that u have a problem because mCort beats w/e team u root for consistently...it has nothing to do if they recruit however u use the terrible and untrue rumor to fuel ur hatred for a good program. So my advice to u is to LET IT GO!!!

Re: Do the Catholic schools recruit ???
Ok and adding on to your comment about the cost for tuition being higher for non catholics...
Thats not just mccort i believe that is the diocese of altoona-johnstowns requirement. so biship carrol would be in on there too.
