Because USC's closest win in recent history in January bowl games is a 28-14 win over Michigan in the Rose two years ago. The others: 37-16 over Iowa (in the Orange I believe), and 55-19 over Oklahoma (also in the Orange).

That matters a lot this year, doesn't it? I'm sure Carson Palmer will be their quarterback, too. You can't go by history. Do you not understand that? It's a bowl game. It's one game. It doesn't matter what they did the past 3 years. The better team will win. That's how it is. It won't be because they've played good in past January bowl games. Wow, you really know nothing at all if you throw that in as a comparison.

Matt Leinart was their QB in their win over Michigan and over Oklahoma last year. Pete Carroll was their coach in all three. Don't you recognize a trend when you see one? Nobody can beat Pete Carroll when he has a month to plan. The past has shown that. Of course, you're too stupid to realize it. The better team would win if it was played at a neutral field in the middle of the season with no more than a week to prepare. USC has home crowd advantage (the Rose Bowl is a short trip from their campus), and they have over a month to prepare. Or are you too stupid to take that into account?

Sorry I'm gonna get off topic here...

Just because a team is closer doesn't mean that it will be a home field advantage type deal in the bowl games. Do you think that PSU fans will be outnumbered in the Orange Bowl? Tallahassee is only 4 hours from Miami. 20 hours from PA to Miami, wait till you see all the Blue and White in the crowd then. Texas fans will go to this game, in any way shape or form possible. Don't look for the crowd to be totally USC dominant.

Speaking of all the Blue and White that will be in Miami: Just called the BJC ticket office, the automated message said that PSU's bowl allotment is sold out. Glad I booked my package early...

There really isn't that much of a home field advantage at bowl games because there are plenty of tickets reserved for students at the school and die hard fans will buy tickets..there will be plenty of fans for PSU at the game...

Congratulations on making yourself look bad, flea. Now all it takes is Texas to upset them, and you'll really look bad again. Go shoot your mouth off somewhere else. Maybe somewhere that you actually know what you're talking about.

I'm sure USC has never played at the Rose Bowl before, and I'm positive that no matter how good Pete Carroll is at making plans to dismantle the other team, he will somehow forget to plan against the Texas Longhorns in the coming month. I am also sure that Texas has played at the Rose Bowl a gazillion times and knows every nook and cranny in the stadium. That's why Texas will beat the snot out of USC. *sarcasm mode off*

Just think how foolish I'll look when USC beats Texas by 17 points. Man, won't that be something?
