TAE, I disagree when you say that Pitt's recruiting classes under Harris were not so bad as to explain the poor performance on the field. I beg to differ. Here is where Pitt's recruiting classes finished since 2002. This year's class promises to be much better. Pitt is currnently in the top 10. I know there are many 5-stars that haven't committed yet which will drop Pitt's ranking somewhat. Regardless, this class will be a top 20-25 class for Pitt. Not bad for Wanny's first full recruiting class.
Rivals ranking of Pitt's recruiting classes:
2002--#39 (class included Palko and Fitzgerald)
2003--#34
2004--#48
2005--#38

Straight from POZ in yesterday's Post gazette: "Like, if I could get drafted in the first round, that's hard to pass up. Just to have that financial security for a long time".

Poz entering the draft = not going to happen.
If it does: I will run down State Street in Athens with a Pitt flag and bullhorn yelling: LONG LIVE PITT! ;-)
I'll even take pictures.
In all reality, Hawk would go above Poz in the draft as the top LB... If Poz comes back he will probably go out next year in the draft as the top LB...That could translate into some real $$$

There's 119 teams, Heaven. Look at how bad Pitt was before Harris. 39 isn't too bad when you are a bad program previously. There's no excuse.
Hopefully for Pitt those kids will stay committed. I think it does speak volumes though there is not one kid in the Rivals.com top 100 interested in Pitt except a kid who gave a verbal a very long time ago. This is what happens when you are a struggling program who doesn't really show much in the way of upward mobility. Pitt leveled off with Harris and wasn't going any higher with him. Wanny's first year, you took a huge step backwards.

Somewhere Brent Musberger is still in an alcoholic depression because his boy A.J. Hawk didn't win the Bednarik or the Butkus. It's a real shame to, Brent loved nothing more to say his name, even when he didn't make a play. Poor Brent. Poor, poor Brent.
