BASKETBALL High School Boys Forest Hills 65 Central Cambria 54

EBENSBURG – Dan Myers scored a game-high 23 points in leading Forest Hills to a win over host Central Cambria on Friday night.

Devin Richardson added 13 points for Forest Hills.

Mike Gowen and Justin Davidson each scored 11 points for Central Cambria.

Marion Center 93 Laurel Valley 31

NEW FLORENCE – The Stingers got 19 points from Travis Himes and 13 from Joe Rhoades as Marion Center defeated Laurel Valley.

The Rams were paced by 17 points from Shane Dickert, who also pulled down eight rebounds, and 10 points from Matt Dubics.

Blairsville 93 United 39

ARMAGH – Adam Highberger netted 25 points as Blairsville defeated host United in the Heritage Conference.

Tim Townsend led 4-12 United with nine points.

Bishop Carroll 60 Richland 50

EBENSBURG – Bishop Carroll’s Jeff Minemyer dominated the boards in a win over Richland, scoring 25 points and grabbing 22 rebounds.

Brock Lauer scored 19 points for the Huskies.

Jim Cover led Richland with 18 points and Steve Tucker added 11.

Ligonier Valley 49 Northern Cambria 44

LIGONIER – Jake Gabelt scored 13 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for Ligonier Valley in an overtime victory over Northern Cambria.

Matt Graham added 13 points for Ligonier Valley, which scored the first nine points of the extra frame.

Joe Rocco scored a game-high 20 points for Northern Cambria.

Westmont 101 Somerset 67

Mark Rossi’s 18 points and 15 rebounds were only part of the show as the Hilltoppers landed four scorers in double digits in a comfortable victory over Somerset.

Adam Watson and Bruce Barger scored 15 each for the hosts and Zack Trotz chipped in 12.

Jesten Herndon led the Golden Eagles with nine points.

Penn Cambria 68 Cambria Heights 43

PATTON – Luke Tomaselli posted a game-high 24 points as the Panthers toppled Cambria Heights. Matt LeComte added 10 in the win.

The Highlanders were led by 12 points from Sam Vescovi.

High School Girls Westmont 80 Somerset 31

SOMERSET – Karlee McQuillen tallied 20 points and Kelly Britcher added 17 as the Hilltoppers defeated Somerset.

Westmont also got 14 points from Katie Lintner and 10 from Ali Buchan. Lintner’s total propels her within seven points of 1,000 heading into today’s game against Trinity, the No. 2 ranked team in Class (AA).

North Star 46 Shade 24

CAIRNBROOK – Nicole Pelesky led North Star with 22 points in a win over Shade.

Megan Lasut and Laura Sesack combined to score all of Shade’s points. Lasut had 13 points and grabbed 20 rebounds. Sesack had 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Cone. Valley 58 Cone. Township 47

DAVIDSVILLE – The Blue Jays were led by Sam Pollino’s game-high 25 points in a WestPAC victory over the Indians.

Conemaugh Valley also received 16 points from Kayla Brandle and 11 from Emily Coy.

Ashley Blough and Megan Maurer led the Indians with matching 14-point efforts.

Ferndale 57 Blacklick Valley 32

Nicole Folta scored 10 points and grabbed 16 rebounds while teammate Alyssa Pudliner had 15 points in a win over visiting Blacklick Valley.

The Yellow Jackets also had 13 points from Sarah McAteer and 19 rebounds from Jaime Rosequist.

Allie Garver had 15 points to lead the Vikings.

Rockwood 50 Meyersdale 16

MEYERSDALE – Joanna Nist scored a game-high 24 points, enough to beat Meyersdale’s team total, for Rockwood in a lopsided win over the Red Raiders.

Windber 51 Portage 40

WINDBER – Laura Deyarmin and Ashley Heinrich topped Windber with 12 points in a win over Portage.

Alexis Lapinski added 11 points for the Ramblers.

Brittany Brunnet and Megan Walkovich each scored 10 points for Portage.

Bishop McCort 74 Johnstown 60

Marissa Basile scored 23 points, and Brooke Pioli and Brittany Genday each had 11 as Bishop McCort defeated host Johnstown.

DaShauna Hardison had 15 points and Manaya Oliver added 11 for Johnstown.

Forest Hills 64 Central Cambria 42

SIDMAN – Cara Smay led four Forest Hills players scoring in double digits with 17 points. Krista Tedjeske hit four 3-point field goals for 16 points, and Brittany Skyles added 16. Courtney Smay scored 10 points, and Stephanie Stohan had 10 rebounds.

Marya Markovich led Central Cambria with 16 points.

Berlin 54Salisbury-Elk Lick 34

SALISBURY – Ella Meese led all scorers with 28 points in Berlin’s win over Salisbury-Elk Lick.

Lindsey Otto led Salisbury-Elk Lick with 16 points.

Cambria Heights 50 Penn Cambria 31

CRESSON – Amber Dubyak scored 20 points and freshman guard Kristie Malloy had 13 to lead the Panthers.
