Bedford's wrestling team
I think that the Chestnut Ridge dynasty is over and that the Bedford Dynasty has begone. This is one of the top Junior high teams in the state. They can beat anyone they want to. I think that this team will be good for this year but next year they will all be up in varsity. The Bedford kids are well trained Coach ripple is doing a great job I dont care what any one says.

Re: Bedford's wrestling team
Interesting.
I'll give you that the Jr. High is pretty darn good. Not sure that translates into complete success over Ridge in Varsity, but time will tell. Keep in mind that the Jr. High only beat Ridge by 3 points.
If you want to see the future of Bedford wrestling, attend the county elementary tournament at Hyndman on Feb 18. You'll see about 40-50 Ridge kids there, 30-40 NBC kids, lots from Hyndman, but only about 10-15 from Bedford. And just look at the domination at the elementary level by Ridge, NBC and Hyndman the past couple of years over Bedford.
Bedford does have some very quality wrestlers at elementary, don't get me wrong. But look at the 3 varsity horses for Hyndman now and tell me that a couple of kids can carry the whole team in wrestling.
It really is a shame to go to a local elementary tournament and only see a couple of Bedford kids there.

White-Power 617,
Just because you dominate in Junior High means absolutely nothing when you get to the varsity level. I'll use Ridge as an example. How many undefeated JH football teams have they had in the past? How many have they had in varsity? Once you get to the varsity level, everything changes. Just because a team is good at one point in time, doesn't mean it will stay like that forever. I wish the best of luck to these kids, just don't go tooting their horn for them too early. In time, they'll have the opportunity to do that themselves.

My opinion is that Coach Ripple is doing an awesome Job, and not just him alone Easter and Cook has what it takes to get the job done and done well...I question that of the Coaches for Varsity at Bedford. I just think they are not stepping up to the plate and I think they need to take a look in the mirror and see if they are doing all that is needed, I don't think they are. Ripple and Co. works the kids and expects what is needed from the kids. And unlike the stupid comments about how many wrestlers are out for elementary doesn't even matter. It doesn't take an ARMY of kids to make a winning team. Just a coach to get the most out of the kids he has. There are only how many weight classes for Varsity anyway????? Come on.

And just because there are only 15-20 kids at Hyndman doesn't mean anything either, do you realize there was an Everett tournament too the same day, and some of the elementary kids from Bedford don't even go to tournaments around here they go to other ones away for better competition. I am sorry but all this you are saying is just people trying to make up excuse to keep this winning thing with Ridge going. Ok Ridge won Bedford is over it, and has been over it. But this is about Jr. High not the Varsity, and to be truthful Bedford could have won by a bigger margin in the Jr. High match, but the Coach didn't want to knock out a couple of kids from the line to insure that, he kept the line up and felt good about not knocking out a couple of kids and still won. And that made the victory even sweeter, because he had confidence that a couple of the wrestles could come back and win over some wrestlers that they lost to at the Bedford Tournament, and he was right.

Re: Bedford's wrestling team

Re: Bedford's wrestling team
The last couple years Hyndman has been as good as Bedford at the varsity level they probably would have beaten them with the exception of this year. I can remember a couple years ago Schritchfireld tried to pick bedford up on the schedual and Bedford didnt want anything to do with Hyndman they were to good to mess with the little brother school then at the end of the season Huxta needed one more win to get his 100th and topper came begging for hyndman to give them a match at the end of the season and Schritchfield said we werent good enough at the begging of the year so were not good enough now. Bedford needs to get there heads out of their butt and realize they arent as good as they think they are, and that there is just as ggod as competition in bedford county as anywhere until you get to the varsity level of course.
