W.P.I.A.L. D-I Recruiting: Gator Re-Commits, Goes From MAC to Big "10"

After making a verbal commitment to a Mid-American Conference school last month, Gateway High School senior David Williams has changed his mind and 'bumped up' to a Big "10" Conference school. Williams originally made a verbal commitment to Kent State in December, however he now plans to play at Michigan State.

The 5'9" 165-pound Williams had 21 receptions for "600" yards and eight touchdowns this past season for the Gators. He is the fourth Gateway player to commit to a Division #1 program this year. Linebacker Dan Loheyde and receiver Aaron Smith have made verbal commitments to Pittsburgh while defensive end Jordan Stevens will attend M.A.C. school Miami of Ohio.

Also, Gateway kicker Matt Lichtenstein is going to Division #1-(AA) Princeton.

I am the type that just might have still went to Kent...I would be confident in my ability but figure you have more Primadonna's at Mich St. I could go and probably get instant PT for Kent.

Give credit to those kids going to Ivy League schools to play football, as Ivy League schools do not give out athletic scholarships.
