With one week left in the W.P.I.A.L. Girl’s basketball regular season, "55" teams have already clinched a postseason berth. However there are still as many as "17" playoff spots up for grabs. Here is a section-by-section look at the W.P.I.A.L. Girl’s basketball playoff picture.

GIRLS CLASS (AAAA) Section #1:

* Norwin (11-1), Hempfield (9-3) and Greensburg-Salem (8-4) are all in
* Norwin has clinched at least a share of the section title and wins it outright with one more victory
* Latrobe (7-5) has a one game lead over Penn-Trafford (6-6) and a two game lead over Kiski Area (5-7)
* Latrobe is home to Greensburg-Salem and at Kiski Area
* Penn-Trafford is at Albert Gallatin then home to Norwin
* Kiski Area is at Hempfield and home to Latrobe
* If both Latrobe and Penn-Trafford tie for 4th place, both teams will make the playoffs after splitting head-to-head
* If all three teams tie, Penn-Trafford would qualify and Latrobe and Kiski Area would be out based on the Warriors 3-1 record head-to-head (P-T beat Kiski Area twice)
* Kiski Area needs to win both games PLUS have Latrobe lose both games PLUS have Penn-Trafford lose both games in order to clinch a postseason spot

GIRLS CLASS (AAAA) Section #2:

* Oakland Catholic (12-0), Gateway (10-2), Penn Hills (8-4) and Woodland Hills (8-4) are all in
* Oakland Catholic has clinched at least a tie for the section title and wins it outright with one more victory

GIRLS CLASS (AAAA) Section #3:

* New Castle (12-0) and Seneca Valley (9-3) are in
* New Castle has clinched the section title
* Shaler (7-5), Butler (7-5) and Fox Chapel (7-5) are all fighting for the final two playoff spots
* Shaler is home to Pine-Richland and at Fox Chapel
* Butler is home to North Hills and at New Castle
* Fox Chapel is at North Allegheny and home to Shaler
* So far in head-to-head between Shaler, Butler and Fox Chapel - Shaler is 2-1, Fox Chapel is 2-1 and Butler is 1-3

GIRLS CLASS (AAAA) Section #4:

* Mount Lebanon (10-0) and Bethel Park (8-2) are in
* Mount Lebanon has clinched at least a share of the section title and wins it outright with one more victory
* Upper St. Clair (5-5), Trinity (5-5) and Canon-McMillan (4-6) are all in the hunt for two playoff spots
* Upper St. Clair is home to Peters Township and at Mount Lebanon
* Trinity is home to Ringgold and at Canon-McMillan
* Canon-McMillan is at Ringgold and home to Trinity
* So far in head-to-head between Upper St. Clair, Trinity and Canon-McMillan - USC is 2-2, Trinity is 2-1, Canon-Mac is 1-2


GIRLS CLASS (AAA) Section #1:

* Mars (11-1), Hampton (9-3) and North Catholic (9-3) are all in
* Mars has clinched at least a share of the section title and wins it outright with one more victory
* Kittanning (8-4) can clinch with one more win at Mars OR home to Highlands OR a Highlands loss to visiting North Catholic
* IF Highlands (6-6) wins at home against North Catholic AND at Kittanning PLUS Kittanning loses at Mars, then Highlands is playoff bound and Kittanning is out based on Highlands two wins over Kittanning

GIRLS CLASS (AAA) Section #2:

* Hopewell (12-0) and Moon (9-3) are in
* Hopewell has clinched the section title
* Ambridge (7-5) and Montour (7-5) are tied for the final two-playoff spots, one game ahead of Blackhawk (6-6) and two games ahead of West Allegheny (5-7)
* Ambridge is at Hopewell and home to Blackhawk
* Montour is home to Moon and at West Allegheny
* Blackhawk is home to Ellwood City and at Ambridge
* West Allegheny is at Beaver and home to Montour
* So far in head-to-head between Ambridge, Montour, Blackhawk and West Allegheny - Amb is 1-4, Mont is 3-2, Black is 4-1, West A is 2-3

GIRLS CLASS (AAA) Section #3:

* Indiana (12-0), Southmoreland (10-2) and Uniontown (9-3) are all in
* Indiana has clinched at least a share of the section title and wins it outright with one more victory
* Derry (6-6) has a one game lead over Laurel Highlands (5-7) for the final playoff spot. IF they end up tied, both teams will clinch after splitting two games head-to-head
* Derry is at Belle Vernon and home to Indiana
* Laurel Highlands is at Uniontown and home to Belle Vernon

GIRLS CLASS (AAA) Section #4:

* Thomas Jefferson (12-0), West Mifflin (11-1) and Elizabeth Forward (8-4) are all in
* Thomas Jefferson is at West Mifflin on Thursday for at least a share of the section title
* Chartiers Valley (5-7), Keystone Oaks (4-8), Waynesburg (3-9) and Steel Valley (3-9) are all alive for the final playoff spot
* Chartiers Valley is at McGuffey and home to Keystone Oaks
* Keystone Oaks is home to Steel Valley and at Chartiers Valley
* Steel Valley is at Keystone Oaks and home to Elizabeth Forward
* Waynesburg is at Thomas Jefferson and home to McGuffey


GIRLS CLASS (AA) Section #1:

* Greensburg Central Catholic (12-0), Ford City (11-1), East Allegheny (7-5) and Apollo-Ridge (7-5) are all in
* Greensburg Central Catholic is at Ford City on Monday with at least a share of the section title at stake
* Freeport (5-7) has no chance since they lose tiebreakers to both Apollo-Ridge and East Allegheny

GIRLS CLASS (AA) Section #2:

* Neshannock (12-0), Riverside (9-3) and New Brighton (8-4) are all in
* Neshannock has clinched the section title
* Beaver Falls (6-6) and Laurel (6-6) are tied for the final playoff spot. If they end up tied, both teams will qualify after going 1-1 against each other
* Shenango (5-7) is still alive. Shenango is 1-1 against Beaver Falls and 0-1 against Laurel
* Beaver Falls is at Union and Home to New Brighton
* Laurel is at Mohawk and home to Shenango
* Shenango is home to Neshannock and at Laurel

GIRLS CLASS (AA) Section #3:

* Bishop Canevin (11-1) is in and has clinched at least a share of the section title
* Seton-LaSalle (9-3) is one win away from clinching a playoff spot
* South Park (8-4), South Fayette (7-5) and Sto-Rox (7-5) are also alive for a playoff berth
* Seton-LaSalle is home to South Park and at Sto-Rox
* South Park is at Seton-LaSalle and home to Chartiers-Houston
* Sto-Rox is at Carlynton and home to Seton-LaSalle
* South Fayette is home to Bishop Canevin and at Brentwood

GIRLS CLASS (AA) Section #4:

* Shady Side Academy (10-0), Wilkinsburg (9-1) and Northgate (5-5) are all in
* Shady Side Academy is at Wilkinsburg on Monday with a possible share of the section championship up for grabs
* Riverview (4-6), Springdale (4-7) and South Allegheny (3-7) are all alive for a playoff spot
* Riverview needs only one win to clinch. The Raiders are home to Northgate and at Shady Side Academy
* Springdale is home to South Allegheny but needs a win AND two Riverview loses since they lose the tiebreaker to Riverview after losing both games to the Raiders this season
* South Allegheny needs two wins AND at least one Riverview loss. The Gladiators are at Springdale and home to Wilkinsburg

GIRLS CLASS (AA) Section #5:

* Washington (12-0), Fort Cherry (10-2) and Charleroi (9-3) are all in
* Washington has clinched at least a share of the section title and wins it outright with one more victory
* Beth-Center (6-6) and Bentworth (5-7) are still alive for a playoff spot. If Bentworth win at home against Beth-Center on Thursday and the two teams end up tied, both will qualify since they will have split their two meetings
* Beth-Center's other game is home to Charleroi
* Bentworth's other game is at Fort Cherry

GIRLS CLASS (AA) Section #6:

* Avonworth (10-1), Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (8-1), Center (7-3) and Freedom (5-6) are all in
* Avonworth can clinch a share of the section title with a win at home against Aliquippa. OLSH can clinch a share of the section title with a win at Center AND at Aliquippa
* South Side Beaver could finish tied with Freedom but would lose the head-to-head tiebreaker after losing both games to Freedom


GIRLS CLASS (A) Section #1:

* Monaca (9-1), Farrell (9-1) and Rochester (8-3) are all in
* Western Beaver (4-6), Quigley (3-7) and Sewickley Academy (3-7) are all still alive for a playoff spot
* Western Beaver is home to Farrell and at Monaca. Western Beaver would win a tiebreaker against Quigley (2-0) but would lose a tiebreaker with Sewickley Academy (0-2)
* Quigley is home to Monaca and at Sewickley Academy
* Sewickley Academy is at Cornell and home to Quigley. Sewickley Academy is 0-1 against Quigley so far this season

GIRLS CLASS (A) Section #2:

* Geibel (9-1), Avella (9-2), Carmichaels (7-4), Jefferson-Morgan (6-4) are all in
* Geibel can clinch at least a share of the section title with one more victory against either visiting Jefferson-Morgan or at California. Two more wins OR one win and an Avella loss to California will give Geibel the section championship outright

GIRLS CLASS (A) Section #3:

* Serra Catholic (6-1), Duquesne (5-1), Monessen (3-3) and Clairton (2-4) are all in
* Serra Catholic can clinch at least a share of the section championship with a win at home against Clairton OR a Duquesne loss at home to Trinity Christian OR at Monessen. Serra Catholic wins the section title outright with a win AND a Duquesne loss OR two Duquesne losses

GIRLS CLASS (A) Section #4:

* Mount Alvernia (7-1), Vincentian Academy (6-1), St. Joseph (4-3) and Leechburg (1-6) are all in
* Mount Alvernia has clinched at least a share of the section title and can win it outright if Vincentian Academy loses at St. Joseph. If Vincentian Academy beats St. Joseph, they will earn a share of the section title
* Elderton (0-7) can earn a playoff spot with a win at Leechburg on Monday
