Temple now on the '06 schedule
Temple now on the '06 schedule
When I called down to order tickets for the Northwestern basketball game I had some free time so I went ahead and listened to Penn State's 2006 football schedule(thinking that I already knew what it was). But to my surprise the off week in the Big Ten was now filled with the Temple Owls.

Could this be to give Penn State 11 D-1 schools and Youngstown will not hurt the strength of schedule or was just to get that 7 home game and make millions more? Does anyone know how having a D-1aa school on as a 12th game will effect the strength of schedule.
Another thing those that already set money in for the season ticket package only sent in for 6 games so are they going to have send another payment?

The Temple game has been on the schedule for awhile. It was added when the NCAA permitted teams to scheldule a 12th game. Youngstown State was added to take the place of a team that backed out of playing Penn State.

Re: Temple now on the '06 schedule
Louisiana Tech backed out because of new conference ties, so YTown was picked up. The Nits were in a tough spot and really couldn't play a real good team here since it is between road tilts with Notre Dame and Ohio State, two possible top 5-10 teams.
Temple was added a good while ago as the extra game allowed by the NCAA. They don't have conference ties yet (I don't think) and they play a brutal schedule with most of their games on the road.
