Did anyone not see this coming? The French absolutely crack me up. This time around, they surrendered to a group of young rioters ticked off because employers were going to be given the ability to fire their lazy rear-ends if they didn't perform their jobs. Just to give a little background - in France it is virtually impossible to fire an employee once they've been hired. This law was designed to say that anyone under the age of 26 could be terminated from their job without cause (same thing that most of us work under). And they wonder why young workers in France have an unemployment rate over 20%. No company wants to hire them in case they don't pan out, because they can't be fired.
