Which program has a brighter future???
Don't get all too caught up in the "top 25 recruiting class" hype just yet. He got most, if not all, of the recruits BEFORE the 2005 season even began fall camps. He was an NFL name that kids recognized and assumed he was putting Pitt back on the map. If Pitt expects to keep those solid recruits coming in their direction, they're gonna have to be a LOT better than 5-6 year in and year out. Getting the talent is one thing, doing something with it and making it work is completely different. I would know, I'm a Nittany Lion fan...

ham....Wannstedt didn't "get" any recruits until the February signing date. You and TAE constantly reminded all of us the pending "mass exodus" of Pitt's verbal commitments.
The fact that Wannstedt was able to keep 99% of his verbals despite the losing record, speaks volumes.

apples and oranges, there buddy. PSU basketball does'nt compare or rate to Pitt football in any regard whatsoever. just another stupid anti PITT post by someone who suffers from a rare disorder that causes stupidity when in contact with the words PITT and PENN STATE in the same sentence. take your medicine!!!!! Pitt football has a rich history that includes many huge NFL stars and national championships. PSU basketball cannot even be mentioned in the same universe.

Yeah, Heaven, and who was the first one to say Wannt did a nice job by being able to hold those recruits after such an abyssmal season?
99% insinuates Pitt has an incoming football freshman class of 100 kids.

That is the problem all you Pitt fans are living in decades back when Pitt was a solid program year in and year out. You guys always call me a Pitt basher but a lot of the games they play I cheer for Pitt over their oppenent. Looking at the last year it shows potential promise for Penn State basketball fans and Pitt Football struggled (You would be crazy to think they did not) so that is how you can compare the two.

Re: Which program has a brighter future???
You are basing your whole argument on Pitt having a losing record last year. They went to a bowl game 5 out of the last 6 years. PSU basketball has not had a winning season since 2001, I believe. Pitt has alot of good recruits coming in this summer. PSU basketball has some kid from Albany coming in. What does it say about your team when you play 30 basketball games and lose 15 of them?

Some of the greatest players in history have come from Albany. Mark Jefferson, Antonio Valdez, Tyson Thompson, Yorkie "Freight Train" Samsonite, Flash Anderson, Hoops McGraw, 3-Point Larry and the Boot Hill Gang, Whitey White, Abullah "Scud" Hassan, Whitey Black, Kevin "Freight Train" McAmtrak, and Kid Foulshot. Do your homework before you make a fool of yourself.

And what about Al Bany, the founder of the town? He was one of the Bany brothers. The youngest, if I remember correctly. Their dad was Benny Bany.

This is the only picture I could find of Kid Foulshot, who as we know became Mayor of Albany after Benny Banny's accidental assassination.
