Re: West Central Coaches
Podlesnik could medal in the mile, but he wont win. Has anyone ever heard of Jake Walker, Lucas Zarzeceny, or Isaac Dunkleberger? It would be tough for Podlesnik to win the mile, but the 800 is a different story...

I believe Zarzeczny is in AAA, Walker is likely to focus on the 3200 (which comes before the 1600 with the PIAA's insane schedule) and Dunkelberger has not been heard from this season. He's a very good runner, but one has to wonder where he has been so far this season.

Pod won't win the 800m either...A kid from down east ran 1:54 at Ship a month ago in the cold weather.

Zaraeczny is AA, I think, because he ran AA in XC. And Walker may focus on the 3200, but at the Baldwin Invitational just last week he ran a 4:13 1600 and a 9:16 3200, so it looks to me like he could be a double threat. Also at Baldwin, Lucas Zaraeczny(finally got it right) ran a 4:18 1600 and a 9:24 3200, so he also could be a double threat. Podlesnik has got some work to do, but could definately get top 4 in the state in the 800 and 1600.
Does anyone else think that there be two D5 runners on the medal podium for the 800m run at states?(Podlesnik and Donaldson)

Donaldson could place I guess now that he ran that 1:58 at altoona. He would have to either beat Podlesnik at Districts or get under the 2:00 standard (which he probably will) If he does either one of those two things then there is a chance. All I know is the 1-8 runners are on the medal podium. Podlesnik got 7th last year with a 1:57. Nobody ran a 1:54 last year at states so if we got like Adam Smith running an almost certain 1:54 and another person in the 1:55 range that leaves a lot of time for the next six guys to place. I've been looking at some rankings and I haven't seen anyone other than Smith under a 1:57 besides 3A guys. Maybe a 1:58 will medal this year. It will be a very close race like always.

Zarzeczny is not AA. He was AA in CC, but I think there is a coop agreement in track that bumps him up to AAA. The WPIAL sectional results should be out soon and we'll find out for sure.
Walker did run 4:13/9:16 double at Baldwin, but keep in mind that at states the order of those 2 events is reversed, with only 2 hours between them. Mock did that double and after winning 3200 he came back and ran 4:19 in the 1600. If Walker doubles, I can't see him coming back and running a 4:13 at states.
