Depth. Look what happened last year in Green Bay. Don't sleep on Vernon Morrency either.
Pale Rider, Cobbs did not get drafted and Jamario Thomas is a sophomore.

You guys have all missed this whole thing. It shouldn't be a discussion over Williams and Bush. Why are they sticking with David Carr? He's done absolutely nothing. The hometown hero VY dropped down to #3 for the Titans. How could the Texans let this happen? Even if VY doesn't become a star, he would've brought the fans every game he ever started. Instead, you pick Mario Williams? BIG MISTAKE. Vince isn't a guaranteed success, just like no other player that gets drafted. However, he would've brought the fans to the stadium. Casserly was so proud of his pick that he resigned. He'll be forever hated in Texas.

I think it you that is missing the point, the point being that the offensive line is in serious need of help, and the backfield (including the QB, David Carr) are doing well for having very little protection. If they would fix up the offensive line some, David Carr would be doing a lot better, and Dominack Davis would be looking at a 1400 yard season.
And I actually think the Texans fans will come to (in a few years) appreciate Casserly and his loyalty to Carr and Davis, and his pick of Mario Williams, when their team finally has a winning season.
As far as Patrick Cobbs, he has signed a free agent contract with the New England Patriots.

why would you pick a quarterback??? david carr hasn't done anything yet, cuz he hasnt had the time... what he's been sacked about 1 million times now, hell for all we know, he could still be getting the grass out of his helmet from all the times he's been down... the protection has been terrible so he hasnt got the chance to show how good he really is... if they would of picked who the team really needed, they would of picked d'brickshaw ferguson...

I always thought David Carr was a really good QB that never had a chance.

Have you guys ever seen this guy quarterback? I can see why I stopped getting on this site for awhile. We're talking about David Carr here. He's had more years than almost any other quarterback that has his kind of stats to do something. It's not because of his offensive line. It's because he's not a good quarterback. Domanick Davis is a quality running back behind a bad line. Wow, but the quarterback sucks. You guys once again prove you don't know what you're talking about. The point of this whole thing is the WHOLE STATE WANTED VINCE YOUNG. Not Bush. Not one of the Super Mario Brothers. You need to bring in FANS to bring in FREE AGENTS. Let me guess you wish the Steelers had David Carr and not Big Ben or is David Carr #2 on your wish list? Let me guess, too, that Joey Harrington shouldn't be a backup quarterback because he's the next Peyton Manning?

Its a misconception that the ticket sales bring in that much money. The NFL makes money off TV contracts. I didnt think the Texans had that bad of attendance anyways.

So, you're telling me $200 seats that go unfilled for 8 games don't make you lose any money? I don't know about that. TV definitely is where a good bit of revenue comes from, but like I said fans bring in big free agents. You guys always say how PSU fans bring in the recruits. It's kind of the same way in the NFL, except you still have to pay the guy 50 million dollars.

so if a quarterback does bad his first few seasons, that makes him a bust? come on... david carr will be a good quarterback, whether they get a good offensive line to help the protection or he goes to a different team, he'll be a good qb... and remember houston's receivers haven't been too hot the last few years, andre johnson is good, but jabar gaffney? corey bradford? no wonder carr hasn't produced yet...

He gets sacked like 50 times a season. You expect him to do well?
Fans bring in free agents? Free agnts go to who gives them more money. I dont ever remember hearing about how a guy didnt want to go to Houston because there wasnt enough fans.
