R.I.P. Iron Head Heyward
Former Pitt All-American and NFL All-Pro Running Back, Craig "Ironhead" Heyward died after a 7 1/2 year battle with brain tumors.
He was a tremendous running back and all-around athlete. I remember watching him play in a pick-up basketball game at Trees Hall on Pitt's Campus. He elevated off two feet and threw down a two-handed jam. For a man that stood 5'11" and weighed about 280, it was an incredible sight to see.
