The Bishop's Cup.
Someone in one of the other threads brought up how there is talk of the "legendary" Bishop's Cup being brought back to life. As a History major and reknowned historian (disproved Fort Bedford, found numerous things lost through history like CD's and t-shirts) I have drawn a parallel between the Bishop's Cup and the Crusades.
See, ladies and losers, years ago kings would grant great sums of money to other jerks to go and recruit an army of knights to go and try to take back the Holy Land from the heathens. This would be like one of the Catholic schools going out and "getting their men" and trying to achieve victories over what they claim as far inferior schools, and teams. Only this time, with the Bishop's Cup, it brings new enjoyment to the common folk observers, because we get to witness two recruited crusader armies get caught-up in a fiasco over who is greater. We get to actually witness these two programs try to out-do eachother in their "offseason activities".
Funny thing about the crusades and Bishop McCort is that both have had the same amount of success with all these legendary knights.

At least we know one thing has stayed consistent through the ages. With the Crusades and Bishop McCort, Catholics just can't seem to keep their noses out of other people's business.

Apparently, the Bishop's Cup will be revived in 07. According to the Tribune Democrat, Bishop Guilfoyle has entered the LHAC for all sports... Will Hollidaysburg and Indiana be next?

Re: The Bishop's Cup.
I'm surprised the Tribune Democrat acknowledged a team other than McCort, even when passing on news. I think Cory Eisenberg is under the impression that "Bishop" was a moniker given to McCort's football team to reward them for success.
Hopefully this addition of Guilfoyle will allow them and Carroll and McCort to come and wet their beaks in eachother's territory, since we know there are no boundaries. It's not bad enough that the local Catholic parishes built Guilfoyle a new wing a couple years ago through the bishop allocating all that collection money from the Altoona/J-town diocese, now we can watch them come up and recruit kids from Dunlo to play for them. That is, if McCort doesn't get to them first. GOTTA CRUSH THE HEATHENS!!!!

Now this is obsessive behavior and perhaps we can help Moldo in this area & increase his awarenesss with a little Psychology tutorial!
Obsessions are defined by:
(I) Recurrent and persistent thoughts, impulses, or images that are experienced, at some time during the disturbance, as intrusive and inappropriate and that cause marked anxiety or distress(you all sure do stress over BM).
(II) The thoughts, impulses, or images are not simply excessive worries about real-life problems(yea don't you have other things to stress over, like your computer not functioning properly!)
(III) the person attempts to ignore or suppress such thoughts, impulses, or images, or to neutralize them with some other thought or action (in this case, the inflicted hates the object(BM) so that they obsess over/hate any thing representative of that object, ex. Vman) Now this is a classic form of displacement but that's for another lesson!
(IV) the person recognizes that the obsessional thoughts, impulses, or images are a product of his or her own mind; presently evidenced by the continuous postings/attacks!
Obsessions are primarily thoughts and ideas that the sufferer cannot stop thinking about. This is certainly substantiated by this post, among others!
Common obsessions include fears of acquiring disease, getting hurt, losing to BM or causing harm to someone. Obsessions are typically automatic, frequent, distressing, and difficult to control or put an end to by themselves(like Catholic bashing). People who obsess about hurting themselves or others are actually less likely to do so than the average person(a bit reassuring).
Now in more serious cases, as demonstrated here by TAE, the sufferers are not aware of anything abnormal with them; they will readily explain why their actions are rational, and it is usually impossible to convince them otherwise(which is why Vman is empathic & fully expects the volley of illogical responses to follow; realizing his pals are indeed afflicted!)
Not to get too long winded, we will briefly touch on Obsessive Compulsive Disorder(OCD); which is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions, which attempt to neutralize the obsessions. In this case, it again explains the odd behavior exhibited by several of the "haters" on this board! It is kind of a vicious, self defeating cycle! Continued attacks in attempt to alleviate the obsession only cause more distress. Vman understands, it isn't easy being you either!

I have to say thank you to me ..." for not being stupid enough to go to Penn State."
Re: The Bishop's Cup.
Sorry. But most everything you just said is routine discussion on the board. Obsession is waking up every morning and getting on Bleachercoaches to see what Pale Rider said the night before. Then taking a peak at BC while at work to see what Pale has said. Then getting online right after work to see if Pale said anything. Then checking BC before bed to respond to anything Plae might have said. That is obsession.
Re: The Bishop's Cup.
Moldy you haven't got the memo!
''to see what Pale Rider said the night before. taking a peak at BC while at work to see what Pale has said; getting online right after work to see if Pale said anything; checking BC before bed to respond to anything Plae might have said."
Two things have become clear in recent days! Charlie don't surf and Pale ain't posting! Vman will stay on the search, however!
