HR - That system seems a lot more equitable than what we now have. Is there a way to express support for such a system that will get to the appropriate ears?
If you don't know where you're going, you'll probably end up somewhere else.

Interesting proposal HR might help or convolude the situation even further. Like your idea of a "regional meet" even better. I personally would like to see track go to 4 classifications.
Another question HR do Philadelphia public schools have open enrollment?

Philly schools do have open enrollment. They have magnet or specialized schools. The one boys hoops team that won state's (can't remember if it was the AA or AAA team) was a situation where all the players on one Philly school team followed their coach to a new, first-year school and won a state title....fair isn't it?
4 classes? Won't happen....they have a formula for that and track, much to even my surprise, only qualifies for two....they treat individual (Wrestling and Track) sports different than team sports like basketball, football, baseball. That's why Wrestling only has two as well. IMO Track and Wrestling both deserve to have 3, but that's just me.
Regional meets? Doubtful.....not enough time and District meets would have to be held even earlier.....You'll see Regional meets when you see a classification added is my opinion. I like the idea, but it won't fly until it has to in order to keep things manageable for a two-day state meet.
The "Wild Card" idea I discussed in previous post will come up at the State steering committee meeting in June. All 12 District Track Chairmen, the state coaches assoc. rep, track officials rep, and the PIAA executive staff will be present. If it comes to a vote and passes, or is amended in some way shape or form and passes it moves to the Board of Control (12 District chairmen, male rep, female rep, officials rep, private school rep, Exec. staff, etc.) for vote in the fall. If it gets by both groups it could be enacted next spring.

Real fair "open" enrollment. Atheletes change schools as the sport season changes. Heard a tale a Philly kid that went to three different schools in one year. District 8 (Pittsburgh) also has open enrollment. Where is the fairness? I'm sure the PIAA executive committee is aware of this. What is a possible solution?
Private schools have their own rep on the committee?
