This may shock some people, but I honestly would hate to see a Wadley-Less Crusher squad this fall.
I think it would take a lot away from not only his team but the talent of the LHAC if the young man isn't allowed to play.
Plus, it seems as though that athletics might be this young mans best chance to right the ship.
Best of luck.

Well Op, before I begin my "vacations" I had to respond to your post!
I think it a classy reaction, as many not familiar with the situation have been & remain content to take shots @ a kid!
I believe the biggest factor in the whole situation is AWs academic status.
I mean this is the most important perspective is it not? Again, he garnered one credit in 2 yrs of "attendance" @ JHS! With a little summer schooling he is now on track to graduate next spring and he is age appropriate to be a senior, only 17!
This has been my perspective/barometer when his struggles in individual classes were "brought up"...sure he was an easy target when not passing a particular class but has come a significant way! I know people took shots @ McCort but remember no one there even knew this kid till he & family applied for admission; then BM held him to their eligibility standards(which exceed the PIAAs)...if he was failing any classes he was not allowed to participate in athletics!
I honestly feel athletics are a secondary issue with the young man but it would be nice if he could earn a scholarship to even a DII school for sports!

I have to say thank you to me ..." for not being stupid enough to go to Penn State."

Re: District 6 Eligibility
The PIAA rule, which can be viewed at PIAA Eligibilty Overview, is very simple:
"You will lose your eligibilty when you have reached the end of your fourth consecutive year beyond the eighth grade. If you repeat a grade after eight, you will be ineligible as a senior."
"You will lose your eligibilty when you have reached the end of your fourth consecutive year beyond the eighth grade. If you repeat a grade after eight, you will be ineligible as a senior."
Everything looks easy from where you're sitting!
Re: District 6 Eligibility
....Which is what I said on page 2 of this thing....A person taking the seven year plan, repeating grade 7 or 8 is fine...just don't play the same sport all seven years of your venture through this exciting phase of your life.

The last I heard they were like 4-0 against Pittsburgh teams then they lost last night to Richland 5-3.
They are running two teams, both JV and Varsity. Apparently they were pretty worn out against Richland, but I also heard a couple of poor throws and blown coverage contributed greatly to the loss. Other than that, the Rangers have had a few underclassman WR's where are performing pretty decently. I heard Rearick looked exceptoinal too except for a couple throws against Richland.
Make no mistake, Richland won't be a gimme this year, and passing league especially plays into their talents. The Rams have a lot of talent at the skill position, but they are lacking somewhat up front..
I also heard McCort took 2nd at Pitt. Who all did they play?

Re: District 6 Eligibility
thank you, amused observer. I thought that the eligibility rules were based on the 9-12th grade years, and of course, an age cutoff. I didn't think it had anything to do with grade 7.
