Strength of Schedule

Post by hilltoppanther »

Here is some interesting information for those PSU fans bashing Pitt and their strength of schedule. This information is according to College Football News.

Here are the average pre-season rankings of Pitt and Penn State's Division 1-A opponents.
Penn State: 48.9
Pitt: 50.45

Not much difference there.

Here is something for Penn State fans to look forward to next year....
Buffalo is ranked 117
Florida International is ranked 113.

I'm guessing, that since ND is a home game for PSU in 2007, that possibly ALL their non-conference games will be at home. Unless PSU travels ALL THE WAY to Philadelphia to play the owls.

Why should Penn State go to Philly and let Temple cash in on a PSU home game? Is there a parrot in here?

No he meant Buffalo!! Via a meek leak it is apparent UPS has added Buffalo as its 4th ooc opponent next yr.... making it ND, FIU, Temple & Buf.

Yep. Let's play ALL non-conference games at home.

You can't, at least, travel to Philadelphia? Maybe you can meet them in Hershey?

Nope. It is irrational financially. You know PSU's biggest alumni base is Philadelphia. Why give Temple a handout? It would be a different story if PSU weas given their ticket revenue. Pitt and Temple are in-state rivals that PSU competes against for recruits. You don't want to just give them a bunch of money.
