Joe cried for years that with just 11 games, he had to play as many at home as possible. His excuse still remained after the 12th game came into play.

Until the NCAA stops teams ability to play 1-AA teams, or until Penn State plays Pitt, you continue to see this happen.

Trust me, there is not much difference between the 1-aa's and Florida International and Buffalo.

Not much difference? How about a whole classification. Buffalo is participating for a national title along with ND, PSU, Pitt, UT, USC, and UNLV. There is a huge difference. And don't say there are I-AA teams that can beat Buffalo. There's I-AA teams that can beat a lot of I-A schools. Difference is, Buffalo and FIU are technically fair game. They are STILL I-A teams, not I-AA. Anyone can schedule them. Am I right or not?

The top 1-AA teams would beat FIU and Buffalo on a regular basis.

The 1-AA's are fair game as well, until the NCAA does something about it.

We all know that Joe could end all this 1-AA stuff real quick.

PSU isn't fooling anyone with the 1-A tag on FIU and Buffalo. Football people are well aware that Youngstown State beats both of those schools more than they would lose to them.

"Football people" are also well aware the the Citadel and Liberty can beat no one.

With the 12th game, every school is trying to get a 7th home game. It is difficult for anyone to get a home game versus a 1-A school without returning the favor. Therefore, many people are going the 1-AA route.

For example, the Big 11's best team, Ohio State, will play Youngstown State in 2007 & 2008.

You aren't telling me like it is, and I dont agree that YSU can beat Buffalo and FIU on a regular basis. FIU was in Sun Belt contention until the last week or so of the season last year. Buffalo just hired a new head coach who is responsible for the recruitment and dvelopment of a few people you may have heard of: Tommie Frazier, Eric Crouch, Scott Frost, etc, etc, at Nebraska. He also worked with Favre in Green Bay. Turner Gill is probably going to turn Buffalo into a respectable team in the MAC. Can Youngstown beat Bowling Green or Toledo? NO.

Since you like to tell people to do their homework, do this homework: go find the percentage of I-AA wins over I-A schools. I dont even mean USC and Texas. I'm talking about Temple and Florida Atlantic, too.

Kids who cant play at the I-A level go to I-AA schools, Hilltop. The best players in I-AA are almost always transfers from places where they couldn't start on a I-A team. I-AA football is good for what it is, but there is just no comparison. You never hear about someone having an offer from USC and deciding to go to Villanova to play football.
