Biggest shock of the weekend for me...
I was just looking at box scores seeing how teams did, and I was shocked when I saw that Syracuse had 126 total yds of offense at Wake. I honestly was thinking the Cuse might rebound a bit and be a BE sleeper team. It looks like they'll be bad again.
BE:
Rutgers going on the road and winning was big for them. I can see them being a team that grows into a "louisville" type of team in the next 5 years. I saw a little bit of Pitt, they looked solid. UVA also looked bad. They will win 4-5 games. Pitt will win 8 in the regular season.
B10:
Michigan didn't do as well offensively as I thought they would. Purdue allowed 35 to Indiana State? PSU looked very good to start then went into cruise control. You can't just turn it off and on like that. They needed to put Akron away. The defense was great I thought, they'll be a solid D all year. OSU was solid, not spectacular.
Didn't really get to see much of anyone else...but more observations:
Calvin Johnson is the best WR in the nation by far. He will be a future NFL STUD. The guy is unreal and GT needed to use him even more. I don't know if ND was just blah on offense or if GT was just that good. Arkansas will be pretty solid with Mustain. They will still be a pretty good SEC team when McFadden is healthy. USC is still in the driver's seat for the national championship. They just looked so good yet again. Carroll showed his skill in highlighting players stats. Several times inside the 2 he would go for the pass to get stats up for the QB and still get the TD for whomever. That could be a big help in recruiting and getting awards for kids. I liked it when they were up...smart guy. Cal, they'll still be just fine, but they aren't on USC's level. Tennessee, they didn't fall of the map folks. I didn't think they'd stink two years in a row. People forgot about them, but they'll be a top 15 or so team.
That's it in terms of observation for now I guess. Just bored and wrapping up the weekend. I can't wait for Miami and FSU.
