whos the LHAC favorite right now

Post by backinblack »

who do you think is the favorite to have the best record...i have looked at schedules now and looks like pc are a favorable choice, having 2 weak opponents then fh and 2 managable games (west, rich)...is johnstown going to lose atleast two when the schedule gets tough with (bc- not tough but) bedford, fh and mccort....mccort...can they run it putting them in position...the biggest matchups i see, that will tell us who will win are the johnstown games and pc and fh....this looks to be the best lhac finish in rescent history....whos the favorite in your mind?

Can you say parity? The 2006 LHAC is definitely full of it. With no real dominating team stepping to the forefront, the champ is definitely anyone's guess. But get this - McCort loses to Bedford in OT in week one, then McCort pulls out a big win in Sidman against FH, and then FH turns around and stomps Bedford by 30 in Bedford. Definitely a baffling situation. Jtown picked up what is now a huge win in week one over the surging Panthers, who are also a team to look out for. I can't see Jtown continuing its undefeated streak because of that daunting schedule ahead of them. Penn Cambria stands 3-1, having lost to the Trojans and beaten CC and Bedford (two respectable foes) and the stumbling Huskies (how bout their record?), but they still have to go to FH and Richland. Right now, I'm gonna have to go with McCort as my pick to win the LHAC. They have one loss as of now, and may only lose one more game (Johnstown), if even that. However, talk to me next week and this may be totally different.

I think someone from Alaska could recognize that McCort is the favorite to win the LHAC...sure Johnstown is unbeaten, but other than PC (who hasnt played FH, and wil have to play richland week 8, inwhich pecora will probably be back and possibly reubal...and luckily wont play McCort) and Johnstown plays BC, BM, FH, and Bed to close out the season and when mccort beats jtown, and jtown loses to bc, fh, it will prove to be mccort will have the tie breaker over FH for beating them, and BM will have the tie breaker over PC because BM will beat JHS

I can't see McCort or Forest Hills losing another regular season game. With that said, McCort has to be the favorite to win the LHAC. Now as for who will win the District 6 Championship? I'd say McCort and Forest Hills are pretty even. If its at all like years past, Forest Hills will keepp improving and will be the better team at years end.
I would really like to see these two teams go at it for the AA championship.

According to piaad6.org, it puts tyrone marion center fh then mccort...so as a 3rd and 4th seed, we could see them play in the championship

btw...the rankings on piaad6 are unoffical...correct? anyone?

No those are correct, they have district 5 in there added to the mix. so whatever are the top 8 is right now, that would be the playoff matchups. If FH and BM win out McCort would win the title. Everyone has at least 1 loss, except Jtown, and Jtown has FH and BM on the slate. Even if Marion Center would go undefeated, and they could, they would be a 4th seed at best. All 9 opponents are Single A and that goes to 720 points, and 360 bonus for 1080. Forest Hills runs the table, they have 6 AA wins, and 2 Triple A wins, giving them 840 and only needing 25 opponent wins. Considering if the win out scenario takes place, they have 10 wins just on playing section games. And whatever out of section wins their in section opponents get. Too close to call yet though. I will look into the scenarios in about 2 weeks. It will clearer then. After LHAC section play. It might be visible. After week 8 is when it would start to make sense.

Ok this just in. Took a quick look see here. If FH and BM did finish tied, BM would still take the title. But I looked at the points scenario here.

Both McCort and Forest Hills would have beaten the same 5 opponents.

Somerset
Westmont
Johnstown
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Heights!!!!
Central

McCort would have beaten

Forest Hills
Richland
Bishop Carroll

Forest Hills would have beaten

Bedford
Central Cambria
Penn Cambria

Forest Hills would be up 20 points on wins alone. FH would need their 3 opponents to come up with with more wins than McCorts considering McCort would garnish 80 additional points off of FH. Like I said. Lets wait a few weeks to break down any scenarios
