Morelli coming around!!!
Re: Morelli coming around!!!
I agree that morelli has had less time to accomplish, who knows when he is a senoir he may have accomplished way more than palko ever dreamed of, all palko is really gonna get is a bunch of university records and a couple bowl appearances, but for real though you guys are kool-aid drinkers!!! with comments like" if ohio state game was at happy valley psu wins" and "psu and the national championship in the same sentence is just silly.

Morelli really came around yesterday. How long would you waste your time with this waste of a quarterback?

Re: Morelli coming around!!!
I'm a huge PSU fan and I think palko is way better than Morelli.
Actually, even with him still making mistakes, Morelli has gotten better with his "football smarts". He checks off the primary targets more it seems like, and it seems like he is slowly getting better. Let's give the kid some time here before we start the Daryl Clark chants. He's had a lot of passes dropped in key situations, too. Just remember when you start talking trash on him that Morelli isn't Matt Seneca; it's not tiem to yell for a new QB.

Re: Morelli coming around!!!
apbk, if I were as ignorant as you, I wouldn't post. Ohio State played their worst game of the year against PSU and still won by 22 points. They have actually played better on the road this year (see the Texas and Iowa games). A more accurate statement would be that if last year's game had been played in the Shoe, OSU probably would have won. However, I don't think you can ever make statements like that.
Let's be honest. PSU is the 4th best program in the Big 10. They have a mediocre quarterback who plays well against bad teams and poorly against good teams. They will not win the national championship any time soon and definitely not with Morelli. Also, the fact that Justin King shut down King does not mean he will shut down Manningham. I am an OSU fan, but I am willing to admit that Manningham is a much better receiver than Ginn. Just look at the stats against quality opponents. If any team stops Michigan, it will be Ohio State because they do have a corner, Malcolm Jenkins, who can cover Manningham, and some good safeties who can help.

Manningham is out for this week and maybe longer. It looks like surgery is next up for him. That's a shame. I don't think it'll make too much of a difference in this game, though.

For once, I'm actually going to be cheering for PSU this week. The 'Horns need a loss out of Michigan.

Re: Morelli coming around!!!
Remember something: Morelli played against OSU and ND early in his starting career ON THE ROAD. Penn State has a conference rival AT HOME w/o the best receiver in the nation playing in the game. I'm not saying Morelli is going to explode for a huge game, but be objective here. The kid played what I personally think are the 2 best teams in the nation within 4 weeks. I guarantee you that Notre Dame can beat ANYONE right now, and its a shame that the only test they have left is USC, who they will crush. Ohio State is probably a rightful #1, but I would like to see that defense play ND this season. I honestly think that Notre Dame, after that MSU game, can defeat anybody after the talent they already have is compounded with how much a win like that can do to a team. So let's see what Morelli can do at home with a big test before we write them off.
4th best team in the Big Ten? Iowa is terrible. I have seen that team play at least 3 times so far this year and they are garbage. They should have lost to Syracuse; it wasnt even Iowa that beat Syracuse, it was pathetic playcalling that beat Syracuse. All 117 other teams in the nation would have gotten that ball in the endzone on 7 tries. I know single A teams in D6 that could get the ball into the endzone from the 1 yard line if they had 7 tries, so lets not act like Iowa is anything special, and is usually real dang overrated. That team sucks this year, and Drew Tate's credibility skyrocketed after he got lucky and that kid made that catch against LSU a few years ago. End of discussion.
We'll see what happens this week. But even if PSU does win this game, it'll be pointless, because everyone is gonna say Manningham wasn't there. I can guarantee you that Penn State was looking ahead to Michigan last week, and have been looking at them for a number of weeks. They had multiple opportunities to blow Minnesota out by 50 points, and screwed around too much. Minnesota is terrible, and terribly coached. Penn State never plays well in Minneapolis. This is a home game. 11 straight home wins, and 109,000 people weaing all white. We'll see how it turns out. You know the defense will show up, the real question is not how well the defense will play, but rather what position is the PSU offense going to put the PSU defense in?
