i agree .... lets stop talking about players that are not starting... but i think that jimmy smith and keith ryan are both good quarterbacks but if they want to be able to be the best they have to work not only with the coaches but with the recievers the quarterbacks have to get used to the recievers and the recievers have to get used to the quarterbacks... smith is a great quarterback in my eyes but lacks leadership .. isnt a quarterback supposed to lead the team? when he gets that there is no telling what he could do .. but as for ryan if he would work more harder he could be starting... maybe... and take some tips off of smith, WORK DURING THE OFF SEASON or maybe go to camp ... but ryan i think is more worried about wresting more than anything so he might not have time which i understand but still is a good quarterback (recover from that ankle injury)... as for shives he is a great reciever hes not the fastest high school reciever but he does have A+ hands and will do anything to make that big play. he has leadership, heart, and dedication and you cant teach that .. as for russell i say that he should work now till next year and work on getting faster stronger and better at the quarterback position he might could get the QB spot but will never...NEVER be as good a Jamarcus Russel .. good luck.. as for the coaches .. good job this year so far ... they make the players work hard and you guys teach them the basic (with or without water breaks).. and for the bench .. just work harder MU is losing alot of good seniors and if more people will step up maybe they will have the starting position ... GOOD LUCK TROJANS :D

I agree, Hard work will get you wins. These kids who do not work out in the off season don't become the best players out there ! This off season I only seen a few of them do anything before the season practice started.
Heck get together over the summer and throw the ball with the wideouts , Run everyday to stay in shape , lift weights ECT.... Don't waite until mid August to do anything . Get off your butt and see where you end up in next years line up. I bet it will not be on the sideline ! The coaches you guys have now have been there and done that . They know how to win.
Have you lost this year ? Yes (But ) I have seen a lot of fire and improvement in this team from last year . Hat's off to you all. And good job. I still think you have a few more wins for this season. Just keep it together in the second half, Fight hard and you'll get there.

You know I woke up this morning and thought today is the day. If our trojans can give all four quarters, i think this could be it. Establish a good running game and the passing game will be there. Good Luck Trojans!

MU played the worst team they'll face all year and couldn't do anything against them. Many times they had GREAT field position and couldn't even get a 1st down. Does the MU coaches even work with a field goal kicker? They were within 20 yard field goal range 4 times. Lets just say we had a kid that could kick them and make them. well, then we would've won the game. ... I'm not one to put Smith down because I know he's trying, but its very clear that his teammates don't believe in him at all and have no faith in him. Also, Bill Shives' piss-poor attitude is really bringing the team down. He dropped a pass he should've had and instead of accepting the blame for dropping it, he cursed out Smith for not hitting him in the chest with it. Until MU coaches get their players playing as one, MU will never have a winning season. They need to quit focusing on 2 or 3 players and get everyone involved. You win as a team, but you loose when you single people out.

Well mutrojans06 if you are so good then why aren't you out there playing. And if you are on the team then that is a poor attitude. Penns Valley wasn't the worst team we played all year. They were coming in with a 3-3 record and they play much bigger schools than we do. You can't go from one year winning one game to have a winning season. You must rebuild first. As for last fridays game, I think that boys did rather well other than the run defense in the second half. Keep it up boys your going to put up one before its over.

....and the big "O" needs work. under 100yds a game isnt cutting it. There is individual players in the area having more than 100yds themselves. You guys are better than that! Good luck this weekend!

I'm not a current player, but played for MU when I was in highschool. I've been around some of the practices this year and have talked to some of the players. That is where my comments about players not believing and Shive's attitude are coming from. You said it yourself, that is horrible if we can't get over 100 yards as a team. MU coaches need to reevaluate themselves and look at what they are doing wrong. I don't think they should have a winning record, but at least play like they want to win. It seems that a few players play hard the whole game, a few more play hard for half a game, and the rest just don't even care.

it takes time to change the attitude in a program...give the coaches time....these guys have been parts of winning programs....give them a chance to convince the players to come onboard and play as a team....
