It seems to happen to the PSU players a little more than other schools. I just question whether Paterno prepares them for life after PSU.

Carter got hurt. That's a legitimate excuse. The only guys who were "busts" were really Enis and Thomas, and even then only really Blair Thomas, because Curtis Enis wasn't that good to begin with. Maybe... just maybe... the media overhyped them too much, just like with Napoleon Kaufman, Rashad Salaam, Eric Bienemy, Andre Ware, Major Harris, Tony Rice, Todd Marinovich, Charles Rogers, Chris Weinke, Gino Toretta, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.

Ryan Leaf...

Or it could seem that it happens more with PSU guys than anybody else because you live NEAR PSU, or at least have for the majority of your life, and those guys were in the paper almost every day during football season, or on the radio, or on TV, and you were exposed to them more than ANYONE else in the country. There are just as many flops from other teams around the country, you just don't know about them because you forget about them when they're not infront of you every day for 5 months a year.

Ryan Leaf? Off the top of your head, name me ONE other highly regarded Washington State player who failed miserably.

Never heard of him. Next? Certainly he was not as highly touted as Leaf. But I'll bet the average football fan, no matter where you live, has heard of Curt Warner, Curtis Enis, Kijana Carter, Blair Thomas, John Cappeletti, etc, etc.

You better do your homework, Moldo. Rien Long was a HUGE prospect that got tons of media hype and was supposed to dominate the NFL a few years ago. He was a lineman. NEXT??????

It's not a matter of doing my homework. I just don't remember this guy. Hey, I don't remember alot of things. But please take my last post as a complement to PSU. Like I said, the average sportsfan DOES remember those PSU RB's from yesteryear. It's just too bad most of them did not make it in the pros, that's all.
