Game of the Year
I can't believe this game is upon us and no one is talking about it. It has been heralded on here as one of the greatest rivalries in all of college football. All eyes in the college football world will be focused on this game for sure. Yep, you guessed it, PSU vs. Michigan State. I personally can't wait. Might even be there in person to witness this storied rivalry of the past decade.
Anyone else see Bill Fralic's comments last night during the WVU/Pitt game?

Re: Game of the Year
When asked about the Pitt/WVU rivalry, Fralic said that when he played PSU was their biggest rival. I think he said something along the lines of it was a shame that one arrogant, stubborn man was preventing the game from being played. Something along those lines anyway. Without naming anyone in particular, the commentators knew exactly who he meant.

Pitt's biggest rival is PSU
WVU' biggest rival is Pitt
most Pitt fans see Penn State as their primary rival
nevertheless the Moutaineers are still hated and since 2002 have been Pitt's biggest rival
The Pitt-PSU game neeeeeds to be played
imagine if Alabama and Auburn quit playing each other
its the same thing as this rivalry not being played
Pitt-PSU rival has come down to being a recruting rivalry
and im hearing a rumor Nick Sukay star recruit of PSU is having 2nd thoughts?
any truth?

Re: Game of the Year
The MSU-Penn State rivalry is definitely real. Didn't you guys see all those PSU fans this week wearing their "We Hate State" T-shirts?

Re: Game of the Year
The stadium wasn't full, actually lots of empty seats, playing their rivals from an hour away in a night game on national television. Why should PSU go fill the stadium for them???? 2 for 1 and I'm all in!

Re: Game of the Year
As analyst stated, Fralic pinpointed the arrogance of Paterno in not playing a game that Fralic says, the people of Pennsylvania want.
Florida State-Florida, Iowa-Iowa State, Georgia-Georgia Tech, Louisville-Kentucky, Clemson-South Carolina and until recently when they became members of the same conference, Va-Va Tech are examples of in state rivalries played despite differing conference affiliations and NONE of these are 2 for 1 and people would be up in arms at even that suggestion.
To all Penn State fans who say crap like they don't care about playing Pitt, their not a rival, that game doesn't mean anything (this excuse really burns me....you guys need to ask some people who can remember the rivalry what it meant, you guys have no clue how big it was) I don't know if you all are just that ignorant or you really buy into the Paterno-Way that much.
And the listed attendance at Thursday nights game was 56,000.....not capacity but not real far off. Empty seats in the second half were probably those seeking cover or leaving early when WVU got an insurmountable lead so don't make it sound like the place was just half full or something.
Just watch how quick this game happens again after Paterno leaves. I'll predict it will be scheduled within a year for the closest available open dates.
Enjoy the Governors Cup or Land Grant Cup or whatever the heck make-believe name they gave this pretend "rivalry" game today between two teams in non-contiguous states.

Re: Game of the Year
I wish we weren't in the same state since that is basically the only argument.

Re: Game of the Year
when are you fools gonna learn that Pitt is a smaller school with less students and less alumni and higher academic standards than psu so there is a major diff, everyone has at least some credits from psu. kinda like mcdonald's alumni. Pitt and Penn State need to play again. Joepa needs to go home to be with the Lord.
