Has anyone noticed?

Post by Head Roadie »

In AA-A:

ICC = 4 District semifinalists
WESTPAC = 3
MAC = 3
LHAC= 2
HERITAGE = 1

*Bellwood is a MAC and ICC member

Did not count AAA because semifinals were first round. For the record MAC teams Hollidaysburg (Independent but joining next year) and Indian Valley were the winners there.

No I don't Gunner but an intelligent guess would have LHAC and MAC pretty much splitting the AA and AAA titles. A has been all Bishop Carroll (LHAC) and Bellwood (ICC) with Blairsville (Heritage) making a few title appearances. District 5 has been won three straight years by the WestPac (Berlin, W, Meyersdale) since they split off from D6.

My point was twofold....I think this is a down year for the LHAC and a good year for the ICC. It was an opportunity to "pump" my conference which hasn't always been the toughest and is sometimes maligned, but is a pretty good "A" conference when compared to the others in the region and is having a very good year. Probably 5 of the top 10 "A" teams in the region hang their hats in the ICC this year.

I will certainly agree with HR on that one. ICC is the best "A" conference in the area.
And the last thing I must tell you...NEVER QUIT!

HR, why are you comparing the teams in your conference to AA teams in the LHAC whenever you are trying to say that the ICC is the best "A" conference...which I agree on. But, why not just say..."compared to the "A" schools in the LHAC?"

HR, I hope you didn't think I was trying to be condescending with my question. For once I was actually asking an honest question, I'm a stats kinda guy and seeing what you presented made me curious as to who was winning the titles, I was in know way trying to belittle the ICC (believe it or not :lol:)

As good as Blairsville has been the lat 4-5 years they never made a dist championship game appearance. They always ran into some team called the Huskies. Bellwood, Bishop Carroll have dominated Dist 6 A championship game appearances with Northern Cambria making an appearance about 3 years ago. I am almost positive Blairsville did not make any title apperances.

Gunner....actually I realized you were asking a legit question....I just editorialized a bit so people would know where I was coming from.

Deep Thought....I'm not comparing AA's to A's.....Comparing ICC to Westpac and Heritage and LHAC to MAC. My comments that ICC was having an outstanding year and LHAC a down year was meant "comparatively speaking" for WITHIN their classification not versus each other.

LHAC and MAC have pretty much split 6-AA titles while MAC has been more dominant in AAA.

FF 1....I thought Blairsville got to the Champ game at least once. I know Bellwood beat BC last year....not sure who BC beat four years in a row but I don't think it was Bellwood every time was it??

I'm sorry HR, but BC was the one who did the beating last year in the D6A game. You mustve been thinking of '04 when Bellwood knocked off BC. This in fact, was the only time in recent memory that Bellwood has won D6A which proves your previous post of Bellwood and BC both owning "A" to be false. BC has dominated the "A" division since the late 90's. This is their first year since approx. '97 or '98 that they have not made it the finals.

And, BC's previous rival in the D6A championship game was Windber for those four years that you mentioned.

I will agree with you that the ICC is a great "A" conference, however, THIS IS NOT BECAUSE OF CHAMPIONSHIPS WON BUT BECAUSE OF DEPTH!
