Thomas Tip-Off Tourny

Post by abpk2903 »

This year was like any other Thomas Tournament full of great games.

Friday Night a great Girls game at Ridge when NBC edged out Ridge by two. The boys game was good for most of the first half but Ridge pulled away in the second half. Not really sure what happened at Everett.

Then Saturday all 4 games were excellent. Ridge and Bedford girls game went down to the wire along with the NBC and Bedford boys game. Then in the girls championship game Batzel did a great job keeping the NBC girls in the game even though it did appear they were over matched and kept the game close. The Ridge and Everett boys game capped of another great tournament with Everett just edgeing out Rdge by one point.

This is a great way to kick off the basketball season with little traveling so everyone can watch these close rivalry games and I hope it continues for years to come.

I really enjoy these preseason tip off tournaments. Usually tournaments are a good opportunity to play competition that is not usually faced; however, this "Bedford county championship" gives us a good precursor for the season to come. Congrats to the Everett Warriors. Will they be there in the end? We'll see. . . Should be a fun season.

I know they host their own tourny but if they could get Tussey in along with Hyndman it would be neat to watch. Be really hard to organize though a 6 team tourney where each team can only play twice.
