Windber -vs- Somerset Boys in Hoops
I went up the mountain & over the hills last night, to take in the Windber -vs- Somerset Boys basketball game (@Somerset). Somerset won the game 62- 52, which was a lot closer, than that final given...
I'm not sure what re-action to make from what I saw :?: I'm not sure if Somerset Area was as good as they played, or Windber just had an ugly night
Anyways, It was a real good game, as far as high school hoops go. Somerset is a nice sized team & from the way they played last night, they should win their fair share of games.
Windber on the other hand, played hard but couldn't get it done. Very bad foul shooting seems to be a par this year at Windber, ( so far). The Ramblers where out-maned in size quite a bit, as they are most of the time in every game, the last few years. The Ramblers really have troubles breaking full-court presses also.
I also gave a thought to when the Ramblers used to play in the Tri-County league against what now is, the Laurel Highlands ... They held their own & usually won there games. In fact, they'd win the Tri-County league almost year in & year out.
I think if the Ramblers still played in the Laurel Highlands, they would have been taxi~tested tougher, for their game last night. Playing in the West-Pac might just be a little more sub-par, than the Laurel Highlands League.
Not taking anything away from either team, but the officiating was a lot to be desired.
 border-lined "$ucK"
(my opinion of course)
Windber lost their first game of the year, but they'll re-bound, as good teams do.
Somerset Eagles, you have a really nice squad. Your very big, you have great outside shooting, & your real quick... As far as playing in the Laurel Highlands League, you have your work cut out for you.
The Ramblers are off, until they play in their own Windber Rotory(Longest running in the State ) tournament Dec. 27th & 28th. I would sugest to them, to practise lots & lots & lots of foul shooting  Your going to have your hands full of the likes of teams as good as The Wesmont Hilltoppers etc...
