AP ~Class (AA) All-State Football Team List...
Scott Lewis is one of the BEST LineBackers I've seen play the game at the highschool level. He was by far the biggest concern for all teams who had to go up against McCorts stout front 7 all year. He played all over the place, and RARELY missed tackles. Him not at least getting on the 2nd team is a real shame.
Re: AP ~Class (AA) All-State Football Team List...
I'm not questioning Lewis' ability. Everyone else seems to be questioning Holzberger's ability. Everyone except those who select the all-state team. Of course, they're all wrong.
Re: AP ~Class (AA) All-State Football Team List...
Ya know. Everyone is wondering how Lewis could be left off the all-state team. Why didn't he at least make the 2nd team is the question. There are 154 AA schools with football teams in Pennsylvania. Let's say that each team plays defense with 3 linebackers. That means there were 462 kids who played linebacker this year in our state for AA teams. So why can't everyone understand how he was not chosen? That's alot of competition for a few spots on the all-state team. Why don't we just say he had a great year and leave it at that.

Moldo... I see some of your points, but as far a havig help, well I can't see what that matters. Jordan had Pippen, Bradshaw had Swann, Manning has Harrison. I think the argument here is that overall, Lewis was the best football player in the area, but got shunned. End of the world..no, shame..yes.
Re: AP ~Class (AA) All-State Football Team List...
There were 5 AA linebackers named to the 1st team, and 4 named to the 2nd team. That's 9 kids picked out of 462. That means 98.1% of the kids did not get picked. SL was one of them. Odds were just too tough to crack the all-state roster, no matter how good he was.
Re: AP ~Class (AA) All-State Football Team List...
As far as having help from teammates, you don't make the all-state team as a receiver if you don't have a good QB and a good line. SL's defensive play WAS ENHANCED by those he played with. Who knows what numbers MH would have put up if he would have had the same line in front of him.

Yes, and our area sucks, which is why he got overlooked. I'm the best soccer player in my Company right now, does that mean I should be on the All Marine Corps team? NOPE! Like moldy said, why can't you just let it go as he had a great year. Who cares what some biased voter in Harriburg thinks?Lewis was the best football player in the area
I know we argue alot on here, but why is the PIAA and the Commonwealth of PA always WRONG where McCort is concerned??? Now they've picked the WRONG linebacker for the all-state team!!! And vman has seen MH on film TWICE, so he has the proof!! WHOOPIE-WOOO. First of all, you cannot compare a DB selected to the all-state team to a linebacker who DID NOT make the team, IRREGARDLESS of the fact that they were BOTH football players. Different positions take different considerations. So that should end the conversation about Mason. AND since Lewis played behind a defensive line that had TWO all-state linemen, don't you think that they made him look good??? MH had NO ONE of any significance playing in front of him. That gave Lewis a DISTINCT advantage in his defensive play. MH deserves his award just for what he accomplished all by his lonesome on the football field. Lewis had tons of help.
Vman has seen MH on film twice & in person once, please get facts straight before arguing. How many times have you seen MH??????
"Whoopie woo"???? We can do better than that Moldy!
Then another brilliant/totally erroneous claim: "First of all, you cannot compare a DB selected to the all-state team to a linebacker who DID NOT make the team" Ahhh, you forget, I am Vman & can compare any one I wish to another player..not hard & again, anyone that knows anything 'bout fb & saw BM play PO could clearly delineate that SL was on a different level of productivity & influence on the game than the PO wr/db!
Then this generalization: "MH had NO ONE of any significance playing in front of him"..... Perhaps you missed this post from one of his teammates:
but the PC defense was designed for MH to make all the tackles not the d-line all we did was block for him offense and defense
Wrong again there Moldo!
And irregardless still is not an accepted word, regardless of what you think.
Copied from MW Dictionary: ".....it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead."
Happy New Year!
