If Illinois, a team you Big Ten bashers put down earlier, played in the Big East here is how their season would hve played out. Lost to Rutgers, Louisville, and WVU big.

These are the push games I think they would have won two of these three. Pitt, South Flordia, Cincy

Beat Syracuse, Uconn

So they would go 4-4 in the conference and they would have at least 2 D-Iaa on their schedule (since that is the Big East theme). So no they are bowl eligible at 6-4. They probably would have a Sun-Belt or a Conference USA team as one other making them 7-4.

They would also go out and find a team that has some winning tradition but has struggled recently such as a Virginia, Marshall, or Michigan State. This game would be a push. But since they beat Michigan State we will give it to them. 8-4 for the Fighting Illini record.

SO THE TEAM THAT ENDED UP 2-10 AND LAST IN THE BIG TEN WOULD BE 8-4 WITH THE BIG EAST SCHEDULE. PROBABLY HEADING TO A BOWL WHERE THEY CAN PLAY THE #5 TEAM OUT OF THE SUN-BELT BECAUSE THEY MANAGE A 7-5 RECORD AND WOULD WIN BY 3 TD'S AND EVERYONE ONE ON HERE WOULD BE SAYING HOW ANOTHER BIG EAST TEAM REPRESENTED THE BIG EAST WELL IN THE BOWLS.

Well bud, they did play Syracuse ..... and LOST!!! Syracuse, the One win Big East team also took Big 10's Bowl Bound Iowa to Overtime.

Sorry dude, Illinois goes 0-fer in the Big East this year.....they played the Big East cellar dwellar at home this year and lost by 10.

And to hedge you before you attack U Conn as the one team the Illini could beat....remember that one of their few wins was a 14-7 win AT INDIANA (Big 11's 7th place team).

You're right, it was BC not Maryland.

So Maryland was the 3 team from the ACC, right? What was Purdue in the Big Ten? 6th? Did anyone actually think Joe Tiller could beat a team better than his? This was a guaranteed loss. They should have given Illinois that nod, despite the record.

Georgia is the most overrated big-time program in the nation. There is nothing ridiculous about that.

Oh, I see Matt Stafford won you a bowl game. Who called that when I saw him play in high school?

Hey, Roadie, tell us why Iowa beat Syracuse. Was it a great defensive stand or piss-poor coaching by Syracuse?

Then make sure you also say that Iowa should have beaten the national champions a few days ago. They almost beat a team much better than them, all around.

East Carolina and Western Michigan and Georgia Tech.

Also, since you may or may not have ties to the Peach state, tell us how good of a job Chan Gailey and those buffoons on his staff are doing with G-Tech. Make sure you use the examples of repeatedly playing Reggie Ball, the insane gameplan against Notre Dame, and the complete misuse, for 4 years, of Calvin Johnson. Also illustrate how well Georgia Tech does in big games. Then tell us how WVU is awesome for beating them.

It was a great defensive stand versus a piss-poor team.

Iowa played extremely well, my hats off to them and their staff, versus a much more talented Texas team that also went into a late season downward spiral. Saying they almost beat the National Champs is like saying any Pro team that beat the Steelers is awesome because they were super bowl champs. Last year is last year.

This was about the Big 10 being really really down, especially from the 5th spot down......How this ended up with you bashing Georgia.....well I guess it was all because how dare anyone say that they or anyone else was better than the almighty Vols that PSU defeated. Is there any doubt that the SEC's #4,5,6 teams are better than the Big 10's as an example? Auburn, Ga, Tennessee vs PSU, Purdue and Minny???? Your SEC darts don't cut it.

And finally some corrections..."You're right, it was BC not Maryland. " No it was actually Wake Forest who won the ACC division Maryland was in. BC and Maryland were 2,3 (based on head to head) Wake beat Ga. Tech in the ACC title game.

Next..."So Maryland was the 3 team from the ACC, right? What was Purdue in the Big Ten? 6th?" Actually they (Maryland) were third in THEIR DIVISION making them 5th overall (GT and Va Tech had better conf. records in the other division). Purdue was 5th not 6th in the Big 11.

and one more "Did anyone actually think Joe Tiller could beat a team better than his?" Well, I guess the Vegas oddsmakers did, they established Tiller's Boiler's as a 1 point favorite in the game, but what do they know!?

Where did I say that Penn State was a heavyweight? I said that each conference has "a couple" of heavyweights. A couple means 2, right? Maybe you can stretch it to 3. But PSU finished 4th in their conference. Just because they won a bowl game doesn't mean they are a heavyweight. Don't flatter yourself.
