Area Catholic Schools Begin Registrations.........

Parochial schools in the region have scheduled kindergarten, prekindergarten and preschool registration for the 2007-08 term.
Registrations begin this week at three of the schools. Information is divided by region:
Northern Cambria County
• All Saints Catholic School, 220 Powell Ave., Cresson, will hold registration in the school library from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 9 for youngsters who will be attending preschool and kindergarten.
Requirements for registration include birth and baptismal certificates, proof of required immunizations, the child’s Social Security number and a $20 nonrefundable registration fee.
Children must be either 3 or 4 years old by Aug. 31 to enter preschool and 5 by that date to enter kindergarten.

• Holy Name School, 215 W. Horner St., Ebensburg, will hold registration from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Youngsters entering kindergarten must be 5 as of Aug. 31.
Those entering 3-year-old and 4-year-old preschool must be those ages as of that date.
Parents should bring with them their child’s birth and baptismal certificates, proof of required immunizations and Social Security card.

• Northern Cambria Catholic School, 3278 Blue Goose Road, Nicktown, will hold registration from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday in the school office.
Children entering kindergarten must be 5 as of Sept. 30, and those entering prekindergarten must be 3 as of that date, a school spokeswoman said.
Preschool sessions will be for those 3 and 4 years old and registrations will be held separately.
A $30 nonrefundable registration fee will be assessed.
Those unable to attend should call the school at 948-8900 for an appointment.
• St. Benedict’s School, 119 S. Church St., Carrolltown, will hold registration from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.
Those entering kindergarten must be 5 as of Aug. 31. Those entering 3-year-old and 4-year-old preschool must be those ages as of that date, a school spokeswoman said.
A $30 nonrefundable registration fee will be assessed.

• Our Mother of Sorrows School at 430 Tioga St., Westmont, will begin registrations Feb. 8.
Youngsters entering kindergarten must be 5 as of Sept. 1.
Those entering 3-year-old and 4-year-old preschool must be those ages as of that date.
Parents registering students will be given tours of the school, a spokeswoman said.
Parents should bring with them proof of their child’s immunizations, baptismal certificate and Social Security card.

• St. Andrew’s School, 1621 Ferndale Ave., Upper Yoder Township, will open kindergarten and preschool registrations Feb. 7 with an open house from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Those who will be attending kindergarten must be 5 by Sept. 1, while those entering 3-year-old or 4-year-old pre-school must be those ages by that date, Principal Grace Guaetta said.
Parents should bring with them their child’s birth certificate, immunization records, Social Security card and a $25 nonrefundable registration fee.

• St. Patrick’s School, 625 Park Ave., Johnstown, will open its registration period with an open house from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 5.
Those entering kindergarten must be 5 as of Sept. 1 and those beginning 3- and 4-year-old preschool sessions must be those ages by the same date, Principal Marge Sindleri said.
Parents should bring with them their child’s birth certificate, immunization records, Social Security card and a $35 nonrefundable registration fee.
Registrations continue after Feb. 5, Sindleri noted.
