I thought the district/state assigned the refs...not the home coach?

Hey, everybody get over this...Tussey won, Rdige lost...Tussey destroyed Ridge on their home floor earlier, what was the excuse then? The kids from both teams played hard an Tussey won..end of story. Chances are they will meet again and a new chapter will be written. Give this one a break, I am sure that the refs called what they saw, the game played out, Ridge missed chances to catch Tussey when neither team could score late, and they game ended as it did. No more excuses!!!

this is old news. hopefully ridge can get it together so it can be a ridge/tussey matchup on a neutral floor for the D5 championship.

Finally an intelligent response.....Yes let's stop with the excuses and deal with the loss and maybe CRidge can grow from it....I was at that game and if #23 from CRidge would try to play some defense instead of trying to slap the ball away from the back of players maybe the outcome would have been different.

Gripe all you want about the officiating but grant it Tussey beat Ridge away and at home and you still won't give Tussey any credit for the these wins???? It sounds like someone is alittle jealous! I hope we do meet again at UPJ. I would love to hear your reasoning behind losing a 3rd time.

The excuse for losing to TM the first time is that they beat the crap out of us. Pure and simple. At no time have I ever slighted the Tussey team, for God's sake. Had the game been properly officiated, there was still a good chance the Titans would have won. My freaking point is that because of the obvious desire of the zebras to adhere to "Bailey Rules" the game was never allowed to be decided by the players. And if the refs "called what they saw," they live in a different dimension than the rest of us do. I could prepare a tape of the very same officials working in different sites making calls on our players on almost identical defensive plays. At one place there's no call. At the other it's viewed as a foul. Guess where the foul was? This kind of thing was repeated frequently. Tussey is a terrific team. The present players took their lumps when they were young, and now they're giving them back. They desrve a hell of a lot of credit But in what was the biggest game of the year, at least for us, I wanted the players to decide who won, not the officials.

Tonight Ridge lost a tough one at home to a hustling, spirited Bedford team. (A team that beat TM in Bedford, by the way. One Tussey fan said they were cheated big time.)Though it was a well officiated game tonight, I thought there were three bad calls made against us that could very well have affected the outcome of the game. But there were probably just as many bad calls against Bedford, which, had they not been made, might have given the Bisons a bigger margin of victory. I was not happy to lose that game, but I have no trouble figuring out why we lost: Bedford played harder and smarter in the last period.

And TMHHS, knocking a player is a cheap shot. We would do that with every game and match we discuss. There's always someone who rises to the occasion and performs at a high level -- and there's always someone who makes mistakes, sometimes contributing directly to a loss.

Officials are human and make mistakes, like all of us. But last I checked, they get paid -- not much granted -- but still they get paid.

Somebody said that at tonight's game the officials were being evaluated by the PIAA. I hope they were given a good rating. They deserved it. I just hope someone was evaluating the officials last Wed. at TM.

And if we're lucky enough to meet TM again and we lose again -- in a fairly officiated game -- I'll be the first to congratulate Tussey. But if you guys get hosed like we did, I have a feeling you'll put my bellyaching to shame.

Seriously, I apologize for being so vocal and obnoxious last night. I (and a few others near me) were almost trying to get thrown out. But the officials wouldn't even do that. Where's my old student, player, and official Mitch Arnold when you need him? He would have tossed me out in a second.

I'll be sure to pass that one on to the old man. We had a discussion about this last night @ the Bedford/ Ridge game. That incident was the reason he got out of officiating. He knew when he started to listen to the fans more than paying attention to the game, he needed to get out. At least you did the district a favor!
