Sex offender poses as 12-year-old
EL MIRAGE, Ariz., Feb. 1 (UPI) -- An Arizona community north of Phoenix is shocked to learn a 29-year-old convicted sex offender had been arrested for posing as a 12-year-old schoolboy.
Neil Rodreick allegedly registered at the Imagine Charter School in El Mirage, Ariz., under the name Casey Price and said he lived with an uncle, his grandfather and a cousin, a New York Times correspondent reported Thursday.
Teachers and classmates described him as quiet and average and school spokeswoman Rhonda Cagle said he didn't appear to be 29 years old.
"He absolutely looked age-appropriate," Cagle said. "We have several seventh-grade students who are taller and of a larger build than this individual."
Rodreik spent seven years in prison on sexual abuse convictions in Oklahoma, and the state Department of Corrections Web site said Rodreik was 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighed 120 pounds, the Times said.
The ploy unraveled when information on his enrollment forms turned out to be fictitious and school officials called the Yavapai County, Ariz., sheriff's office, the report said.
The three men Rodreik was living with were also charged for not registering as convicted sex offenders.
Their trials are scheduled for later in the month.

Are you kidding???? MAY HAVE??? Why else does a 29 yr old pose as a 12 yr old?!

Good God, people. Why not just say: "We were really irritated at the way he squealed tire every day in his Camaro whenever he left school. 12 yr olds cannot squeal tire that well, and it should have sent off an alarm."

Where do you even start with this? And how about that "party house" where he and 3 other sex offenders were hanging out? I wish I could sit in on that dinner conversation. Arizona has got to be the worst state in the Union. My friend moved out there recently to take a job with Honeywell, and he told me it is ridiculous. You don't have to have a hood on your car to drive down the highway. Then there are mass murders of illegal immigrants, UFO sightings every 5 minutes, gunfights at the OK Corral, and then sex-offender party pads. It's like Yakov Smirnoff said: "What a country!"
