The Big East Tourney is over and congrats to Georgetown for winning the title. Roy Hibbert showed how he has became one of the most improved players in the country and Jeff Green played just like the Big East Player of the Year.

Some thoughts during the tourney...



- Georgetown is firing on all cylinders right now. They look like they can win it all. I put them with UNC, Florida, and Kansas as my favorites to win it all.
- Unlike other people, I actually liked Syracuse's new uniforms. They have a retro feel to them.
- Aaron Gray, in my opinion, is one of the most overrated players in the nation. In one of the biggest stages of Pitt's season, Gray went 1-13, missed a bunch of easy shots, and completely got dominated by Hibbert. Sure Hibbert has a size advantage at 7'2", but even when they had Green or Pat Ewing Jr. in there, Gray couldn't get going. Some of the fault has to go to his teamates for not looking for him, but come on, 1-13? He hasn't shown me anything this year.
- West Virginia has a nice team, but I feel they'll be left out. They have a good record and they beat UCLA (without Collison), but they don't have much quality wins after that only a wins at home against 'Nova and N.C. State. They'll be a tough team in the NIT though.
- Teams from the Big East that are going to be in (in alphabetical order): Georgetown, Louisville, Marquette, Notre Dame, Pitt, Syracuse, and Villanova.

Gray is one of the most overrated players in the country yes.....but you can be overrated and still be a top 20 player......heres my arguement for Aaron cause i really think hes a good player

Pitt was a top 10 team for the majority of the season and are currently ranked 11th


If Gray left
Pitt would not have been a preseason top 25 team let alone a top 10!
their current record is 27-7

i bet if he left their record is closer to 23-10

Hey. If you're gonna lose one, that's the way to do it, getting blown out. I can speak from experience, when you lose a game like this by one or two, it can haunt you the rest of your life. After a game like last night, you just move on. NO second thoughts. Aaron Gray played a WHALE of a game Thursday vs Marquette. He is a good player, but not a dominant player.

Yes i do believe he is a good player, but I do not think he is a top 20 player as Crimson says. He puts up the stats, but not against top centers, or even some middle-level centers. He had a good game against Marquette, but who's Marquette's center? Louisville held him to 9 points and they don't have a great center. And I believe that if Gray would of left for the NBA, Pitt would of still had about 25 wins this year. They beat the teams they were supposed to beat this year, they didn't beat an overly great team this year with Gray.

I dont watch much college basketball, but one of my good friends watches a ton of it. He told me there's 30 players in the nation better than Gray at his position alone.

I don't believe Gray is going to be a great NBA player, but I'm guessing he will be a respectable role player. He's 7'0 and 270 pounds and NBA teams can't teach that. If nothing else he'll go into games to push around the other teams big guy, clog the lane, grab some rebounds and hopefully put in some junk baskets here and there. I also believe he's a hard worker and will continue to improve his game.

As far as his contribution to Pitt this year, I think he did a decent job. He may not have been All American caliber player, but he averaged a double-double in one of the best conferences in the country. He should prove valuable in their first round game, as Wright State is undersized. As Pitt fans know, you can't take any game for granted. All in all, I'd still rather have Aaron Gray on the floor than on the bench.
