Whose Now?
I am sure every single person on this website watches Sportscenter. On top of that you may stumble upon the "Whose Now?" segment Well heres basically a spin off of Espn but turned into Pittsburgh Style I have an idea of who the final 2 are gonna be but for the sake of argument heres my bracket of 8 Pittsburgh Athletes....
1.Sidney Crosby-plain an simple he is the man. The Pens are the hottest team in the 'Burgh right now. Hes got the swagger and talent to be an absolute star of stars. Before the age of 20 he has won a scoring title an MVP saved a franchise and become the face of the NHL
8.Troy Palamolu-Without a doubt the most recognizable sports figure in the city with the hair. The 16th pick of the '03 draft has been huge for the Defense and can be argued as the MVP of the team. We all see the wigs and heard the jingle on the radio you get the picture
4.Jason Bay- Although strggaling of late...The Outfielder is probably the most known player on the team. With the Pirates the worst and least hyped team in town he is still the team's main superstar. Won the '04 Rookie of the year and has been a miianstay in the middle of the lineup for the past 3 1/2 seasons. He is a low key guy but is still the teams brightest star.
5-Evgeni Malkin-created a lot of news when he decided to leave the Russian hockey league to come to the Pens. He was reecently named the League's Rookie of the Year and may only be Sidney's running mate but is still one of the top scorers in the NHL
3-Hines Ward-Known mainly or his tough a gritty play. He is also recognized as an overseas star with his mother hailing from Korea. The WR has been in local TV commercials and is a fan favorite atr Heinz Field
6-Marc-Andre Fleurry-Fleurry was the first of numerous young stars drafted by the Pens to change the franchise. With solid play in net the Pens stormed back into the playoffs and is a fan favorite
2-Ben Roethlisberger-has a sandwich named after him...won a super bowl his second season.....was in a big time accident and other off field events last year....current leader in rookie QB wins....He is the star of the town on Pittsburgh's favorite team
7-Freddy Sanchez-The team's Iron Man. Struggled from a birth defect that caused him to wear leg braces at a young age. This heled prompted him to be a fan favorite and him winning the '06 Batting title just improved it and not to mention playing in his 2nd all star game this past month.
you can guess who it will come down to..(BR & SC) but you can argue it say if i missed someone maybe someone else you know how it works its not overall talent its about whose now....So Whose Now?....in the city of Pittsburgh

agree with the seedings only thing is maybe get Jordan Staal in there instead of TP or Sanchez. But we will go with it.
Crosby vs. TP- Crosby wins hands down. Packs every visiting arena. Some say he not only saved the Penguins but also NHL.

From there this is where i disagree.
Crosby vs. Malkin- The Captain and the scoring champ at only 19. Both have a ton of talent and could turn into Jagr and Lemuiex type of thing. In a few years maybe a push but right now it is Crosby's.
Roethlisberger vs. Ward- Ward has been a consistant force since joining the Steelers and shows more emotion. Roethlisberger is the QB and the franchise player. Ward gets it because of the Super Bowl MVP award and the several Pro Bowl appearences.
That leaves the finals as Ward vs. Crosby

Sid the Kid vs. Ward- Ward has got the time advantage been there for a decade and Crosby is the MVP of his league. Very close match-up but Sid edges him out due to the fact that he is more than just the star of the team like Ward he is the star of the NHL.
