Paterno's Comments

Post by footballfan1 »

on ESPN.com paterno stated that he might coach from the pressbox this season. Read his comments about watching TV and drinking coffee. It is comical.

I think it makes sense for him to do this. He'll save spending some of that $10 million a year salary buying Depends, because he'll be closer to the bathroom.

That way, he can donate more money to the PSU Library...

I see the Hobbit of the Hood, Elijah Fields, got kicked off the team. That's too bad. I guess Pitt's defense will be an F- this season instead of just an F.

Uhhh, it's called accountability.......even though it is a non-police matter DW chose to suspend the young man for the yr......Your W/E @ Bernie's leader "isn't sure what he's going to do" w/ players awaitng trail but as Vman had predicted he did suspend them for the summer (can we say token slap on the wrist)???

TAE...Being kicked off the team???? Now THAT is a NOVEL concept to you Nitters...After all, your players do no wrong, and neither does your coach. Check the Fulmer Cup rankings...

FYI, Fields was removed from the team as per university policy. Seems the young man chose to smoke weed as a favorite hobby.

Wanna remove 1/2 the PSU football team? Institute a policy of accountability like Pitt has...

Oh wait, ACCOUNTABILITY at PSU...WHAT's that??????????

PSU Football Program and Accountability? The oxymoron of the year.

I think if Paterno "coaches" from the pressbox, as he tries to catch Bobby Bowden in total wins, his conversations during the game with his personel on the field, should be taped and reviewed AFTER the game is over, to help "prove" he was actually coaching and stratigizing DURING the game, and that someone on the field is NOT making all the decisions. After all, if he is going to get credit for getting a win while in the pressbox, it should be demonstrable that he got his 2 cents worth in DURING the action of the game. If he's gonna be one of the only head coaches in the country to be absent from the sidelines during the game, he should be held to special rules of scrutiny.

I agree with you, but would you say that about all coaches or just JOkepa?
