This is pure speculation. I wasn't there, so I have no idea. I am just putting out a scenario of how it may have gone down and how different people from different parts of the world would have reacted.

Maybe the cop was in uniform, if so, he should receive severe punishment!

Maybe the cop was not in uniform and Fields felt his life was in danger.

Maybe he never reached for the gun and security cameras and witnesses will testify to that.

Maybe the cop charged him with a bunch of things hoping one will stick or that he will plead out.

Only time will tell the unknown.

One thing I know for sure is that Jamie Dixon will do the right thing. I have no doubt about that.

I really do respect Dixon, I actually pull for Pitt Basketball half the time (WVU is my drug of choice, I just wish I had something to be proud of here at State). And I wish we had a coach like him here. I like DeChellis, but all we have to talk about for PSU basketball is breaking the Illini's streak a few years ago........woo hoo. How bout we make a tourney before I turn forty?????

If someone has a gun, I sure as hell am not gonna start to scuffle with them. I'm gonna talk it out with him, and if that fails, i'm getting the hell out of dodge. I'm surely not gonna reach for it.

And where I'm from, people don't carry around guns... Well, not ones they can fit on their hips anyhow!

Where Fields is from, reasoning with a person carrying a gun probably would result in Fields getting shot. He's probably seen more people shot than you have deer. He's pretty fast, but trying to "get out of dodge" would result in a bullet in the back. My guess is he reacted on instinct based upon where he is from.

We won't know anything until all the facts come out.

I read that it was about 2am at Pure nightclub in the Strip District and it was an 18-and-over night at the club; all the alcohol and liquor was removed from the club beforehand. They said Fields was definately intoxicated but had to be before he got there. Guess he was acting rowdy in the club and started cursing at a cop and the undercover cop was there at Pure for some reason or another and saw Fields arguing with the cop in uniform so the undercover decided to go over to Fields and ask him to clam down. Fields finally went outside the club and started arguing with some black guy and the undercover once again came over and asked him to stop cursing and to calm down, and thats when Fields elegidly hit the undercover and tried to reach for the undercover's gun. As he tried to do that Fields was shot in the chest with a taser. Just some bad calls by Fields I guess, but not sure why he reached for the gun. . . . . can take him out the Bronx but ya can't take the Bronx outta him.
