The young Mustangs dominated Windber tonight and won easily, 14-0. The score doesn't indicate how much of a one-sided affair this game was. Portage got stopped at the goal line to end the first half and then ran out the clock to end the game deep in Rambler territory.

Portage scored their first TD on a 64 yard run with around 3:00 minutes to go in the first. After an extended time to care for an injured Windber player, Portage scored again early in the second quarter to set the final. The Mustangs dominated up front and used their quickness to control Windber's God Awful Single Wing. The Ramblers did nothing offensively.

Windber did make some defensive adjustments at halftime and held the Mustangs scoreless in the second half. However, Portage's stable of underclassmen backs grinded out some tough yards and kept the clock running. The Mustang's punter had a great second half and consistently pinned the Ramblers deep in their side of the field.

Too much Portage quickness and toughness, Windber seemed bewildered, intimidated, and beaten from the opening whistle. Wait a minute...hasn't that been Portage for the last 15 years against Windber? Not anymore, a new king reigns supreme in the West Pac Conference, the Mighty Mustangs of Portage.

And the scary thing...Portage is all underclassmen. Look out District 6 Single A for the next 3 years.

What injury to a Winber player ? - Portage is known for illegal tackles just to put players out that are competitive....If there are any other players that have been pulled down intentially or hurt on purpose when you make Portage look bad please post - we are looking to see if this is becoming a habit and has happened before - ??!!! That is a shame.....

Vman or User do you have any information on the D6 playoffs? If not any opinions who looks good not just LHAC but ICC and MAC>? Also you were right in the call to open up the passing game. Domonkos Varga and Lowry all had big days. Where has cruz been in the passing game? Are they still running the QB roll out or do they do it out of a 4 wide set? Also FBs havent had many touches? I see westy has folded as of recent? Are they the richland of last year? Dont know awhole lot but im sure they have some talent in the backfield...

Well the playoff teams are all in place its just a matter of seedings

tyrone definatley has the one seed locked up assuming they dont lose but lost Johnny Franco for the season.....


With the McCort situation they were without Wadley and will be without him again for BG But The Wideouts spread it out with Eric Lowry being the lone back which is the reason the Fullback position hasnt been getting the calls and well watch the game tuesday or thursday and make your own opinion.....JD looked for Cruz one time going towards the endzone and overshot him i didnt take notice if he had another catch

Portage plays dirty!!! You can insult all you want - you probably go to Portage or are alumni - but to all the football players out there reading this; watch the illegal tackles and tricks if you are playing them - They know how to get away with it - refs are no help. Can't wait till they get their butt kicked! It will make my whole day!
