Also, this may come back to haunt me, but, the cliche "any given friday" really applies here...

B/c my thanksgiving break started today, ive had extra time and looked in the archives of BC to the 2005 District championship game between FH and BM and found most of the posts had FH winning by 1-2 tds or BM by a slim margin...FH was #2 seed and BM was #5...fitting huh? Both #5 seeds were victorious over an 'overrated' and undefeated Tyrone teams...even more fitting! The game ended 31-28 FH victory which could have very easily been a victory for the Crushers. I withdraw all my previous score predictions and replace them with "McCort winning by one"...i think this came could very easily turn into a shootout...just as the 05 did (both 'D's played solid all year) but the O seemed to find its way...

SO...McCort by 1 over Central Cambria...

Passing yards given up against the top 5 passers that each team faced:
1. Richland (Pecora)
BM 187 yds CC 158 yds
2. Bishop Guilfoyle (Brown/Kuny)
BM 125 yds CC 158 yds
3. Forest Hills (Glessner)
BM 139 yds CC 84 yds
4. Somerset (Kaufman)
BM 118 yds CC 84 yds
5. Johnstown (Lehman)
BM 122 yds CC 76 yds

Totals
BM 691 yds CC 560 yds

Supposedly the best secondary in the LHAC eh username??
Looks like the CC secondary (which is definitely the weakest part of their defense & not even a top secondary in the LHAC) put up better numbers than the vaunted best-on-this-side-of-the-Mississippi Crusher defensive backfield.

I am feeling a little sleepy at the time, but please allow me a few minutes to refute your arguments before you BM fans get your vultures on and attack my fresh carcass of a post:

Yes, the CC d-backfield benefits from a nice pass rush and therefore may have some blemishes covered up by their boys up front. But who cares? Does it really matter who's secondary is better? You could have the best liver in the history of God's creation but if your heart is shot your body isn't going to fare too well now is it? It's a team thing, defense is.

And yes, numbers cannot define a defense (nor really anything in athletics). They are a good measuring tool, but there are more different factors that can inflate/dilute statistics than you can shake a stick at (weather conditions, offensive/defensive philosophies & game plans, etc.). So I wouldn't put all your prediction eggs in one statistic basket.

H.S. football, in my opinion more so than any other classification of sport, hinges upon the unmeasurable. Heart, emotion, and MENTAL TOUGHNESS (three things that just cannot be quantitatively measured) have outrageous amounts of influence on the game. Who does this benefit? I have no idea. But CC wasn't supposed to travel 2 hours and win against Penns Valley and they sure as hell weren't supposed to beat Tyrone (no matter how overrated someone says they were). Food for thought, my friends.

Heart...
5'7" 164lb LB breaking a 39 year old tackling record
5'7" 151 lb WR breaking school record after record

Desire....
99 yards in 1:30 (when you only had 175 in quarter of an hour)

Mental Toughness...
First start for a soph. filling in for a injured teammate who started all year against the top rushing attack in the district

I'm not sure how CC fills in these categories but I know my Crimson and Gold sure make a great definition.

El-Moldo...if i refer to "Nancy" it will be short for "Negative Nancy" which refers to you!

So Nancy, Why always, always, always put people down when you could join in the praise? The Crushers have made 6 of 7 WINNING 2! (sure they lost 3) BUT they WON 2! which is the same as FH and Tyrone in that period...and now they can pass those two up! CONGRATS BM AND GOOD LUCK ON FRIDAY!

Nancy, I think you should enjoy this for the crushers, sure FH or whoever it is you're sour over, isnt playin in the Championship, but there will be another year next year, BUT UNTILL THEN, theres a very competetive and exciting game about to be played here on Friday, so lets rejoice at this time of the year (It being thanksgiving and all) and be glad for everything God has blessed us with!

Uh, 3 you miserable F... okay we won't go there it's a Holiday eve..... Happy Thanksgiving you miserable F...

how many games did FH lose this yr.?? How many times has FH lost to the A Crushers in the last 12 mtgs.....I think that answer is 8.....and how many times has FH lost toTyrone in last 7 contest? I believe that's 5 or 6! Clearly, the single A Crushers have become Kings of the area (considering wins over Tyrone the previous 2 yrs.) & the aforementioned 6 trips tothe D6 AA finals.

And to all our non miserable posters you have a wonderful & safe Holiday.

It's like the UNCOLA again. vman can't answer a simple question without bringing in another school. I honestly couldn't believe that BM was in that many championships and lost that many. Why is that being negative if it's the truth. Hey, some people like to EMBELLISH things. Is being negative any different?
