Re: Its playoff time AA style
The Patriots were unstopable...that is untill Phili rolled into town. I think Jeanette can be beat and the psyche of those kids has to be sky high (unless they are fed some of Belichak's 'Humble Pie') I would not be shocked if Jeanette or even the Patriots wins or loses from now till the championship. Any given Sunday, Saturday, Friday, Thursday, Wednesday, Tuesday, Monday.....

Just wanted to add my opinions of the BM vs CC game. BM did what they needed to do to win this game. They put the ball in the air, and my player of the game has to go to Schrey. Although he did not put up Varga like numbers, down the stretch, when they needed it the most, offensively and defensively schrey was a huge factor. If BM is to advance in statewide play, they are going to have to go to him and perhaps Demonkos a bit more. Taking nothing away from Varga, but I can see teams really keying on him. Lowery's running in the 2nd half was also impressive. It was a great D6 championship game and much credit to CC who answered every touchdown in regulation. Good luck to BM against Wilmington.
Re: Its playoff time AA style
Of course I was proud of McCort's effort in winning back-to-back D6 Titles but a few things impressed me 'bout the CC kids & staff.
Late in 1st half BM was driving (around 20) & Schrey caught a hitch, shed the corner & worked his way inside the 4 yd line.....first & goal & BM could extend it's lead to 21-7...but wait a questionable flag & ball placed outside 20...CC made 2 more defensive stops (incl a sack) & got ball back w/ approx 2 mins to go in half.
To their credit they pulled off a long run & pounded ball into end zone, tying the game going to locker room! A hard fought 2nd half & OT ensued as we all know, ended w/ Matty V. making yet another big play!
Now, after gutty performances from their rbs, very good qb play, OL play & defensive effort the CC squad & coaches stood in unison & applauded every McCort player (in lieu of going to locker room) as they received their medals....this team just played their hearts out in a classic championship & demonstrated their collective class yet no post game recognition???????? Shame on D6 for such near-sightedness!!

Re: Its playoff time AA style
I think if Bishop Mccort was single A this year they could of gotten to Hershey. With Southern Columbia going down this year the east looks wide open. i dont no how Bellwood matches up with Steelton but I would just think if BM was the dist 6 A representative they would have a good chance of making the state championship game. Is BM going to be single A next year for sure? Having 3 bishops in single A will be interesting. It will be interesting to see how long it takes the public schools to start complaining come playoff time. Bishop Carrol I believe returns a solid group and well Bishop McCort just wins no matter who they have on their roster and BG I think has some nice kids back next year.
Re: Its playoff time AA style
Could you really blame the single A public school teams for complaining? The Laurel Valleys, Penns Manors, Conemaugh Valleys have to make a huge effort just to make the playoffs. Restricted by geographical borders, they must consistantly field a team from "neighborhood" kids. With attendances down across the board in most Single A school districts, it is often tough to find enough "good" kids to be competitive, especially with the private schools. When you see some teams pulling up 9th graders to fill out their roster, what does that tell you?
Re: Its playoff time AA style
It's promising alright. Promising that more struggles will continue for those programs.

The Single A descion has been made and its 100 % official
But seriously McCort should be loaded next season maybe a run to Hershey? Expect a preseason top 10 maybe even top 5 ranking

Will they really be that loaded? I thought J Def and Matty V Cap and the gang might hurt, who are some of the people that will "step up".

Re: Its playoff time AA style
whats left to be discussed in AA playoffs? We've crowned Jeanette already and everyone else shouldnt even bother playing on friday cuz they will just suffer their wrath...
I tried talkin about a possibility of THE Jeanette Jayhawks....but everyone just swooshed that away...
However...i will post some interesting stats about wilmington that will in turn make it sound like the Crushers seem to have a shot (altho most of the experts on here seem to think they dont)

Re: Its playoff time AA style
no one gave the eagles a chance on sunday and they almost went out and beat those dang patriots...that's why they play the game. If McCort can keep the pass rolling they will be in the game. They should just give up the run all together, lol. (i know you have to run the ball). They should use the pass to set up the run though.
