Here is hoping that Missouri beats Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship. Let's face it, WVU vs. Missouri is not what the sponsors had in mind when they created this system. I'm sure they would like to see both teams lose and have an Ohio St. vs. USC game. Maybe if the high profile programs are left out of the championship a few times the system will change.

Good point oar, that's why I'm always rooting for the undefeated Utah's, Boise's, etc....like to see wrenches in that system!

If Missouri were to lose to Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship, Ohio State would jump into the national championship. If you want to see a competitive championship game, pray that the Buckeyes don't make it there. You know how Florida killed them with their speed last year? What's the one thing that the Mountaineers have? Speed. Ohio State couldn't stop Illinois's offense, and West Virginia is like their offense times 50. The Mountaineers would absolutely demolish the Buckeyes if that came to happen.

WVU would not "demolish" OSU's defense. In fact, the Illinois game would give the OSU defense plenty of motivation to be prepared for WVU's offense because so many people are making the comparison. I think OSU-WVU would be a great game for this part of the country, and I am hoping for it. Keep in mind - other than Illinois, OSU dominated every opponent they played. They did not play a great schedule, but neither did WVU. I think it would be great. I don't think either of them are great teams, but in the lack of a truly great team, OSU vs. WVU would be a great regional match-up for the championship. I don't think they have played since 1998 - a 34-17 Ohio State win.
