Just three days after Pitt stunned West Virginia on the playing field in Morgantown, the Panthers have edged the Mountaineers again, this time in the recruiting battle for a high school speedster in Monroeville. Gateway senior Cam Sadler has made a verbal committment to the University of Pittsburgh Wednesday night.
The 5-foot-7, 165-pound running back-defensive back, picked Pitt over both West Virginia and Virginia.
Sadler, who was a terror on special teams returning kicks, will likely play wide receiver at Pitt as well as return kicks.
The senior back rushed for 831 yards in four W.P.I.A.L. playoff games and 1,709 yards rushing for the season. He also scored eleven touchdowns in the playoffs and racked up 31 TD's for the season.
