Nice win for PSU hoops last night...
They had a nice come from behind win over Seton Hall. They missed a ton of free throws at the end, but Talor Battle, a freshman, came up huge at the end of the game. He hit 3 threes, and a layup where he drew a foul in the last seconds of regulation and OT. It was a fun game to watch.... I think they'll get better as the year goes on for sure. I hope they can be in the mix for the top half of the B10.

Re: Nice win for PSU hoops last night...
The question really is going to be: Can they break .500 and make the NIT? PSU is 4-4 right now. They SHOULD be 8-4 after the non-conference part of their schedule, home games remaining with Princeton, Denver (not the Nuggets), Colgate, and Lehigh. With 18 Big Ten games to play, can they win 7 of them to finish the regular season at .500 at 15-15. And even then they must win at least ONE game in the Big Ten Tournament to insure a .500 finish and be eligible for the NIT. Gonna be tough.

Re: Nice win for PSU hoops last night...
Well, in about 20 minutes, PSU will start their Big Ten Conference schedule tonight at Northwestern. They indeed finished 8-4 in the non-conference part of their schedule. Amazing, that in 12 games, PSU only played ONE game in another opponents gym for an away game. They played 3 games in a neutral court at the Old Spice Classic, and 8 games at the BJC, but again only played ONE game at an actual away game. PSU also played 3 teams that do not give out athletic scholarships. These were teams from Princeton, Colgate, and Lehigh. So you're playing 3 home games against guys who don't get any athletic aid. Anyway, back to the Big Ten. With 18 conference games to play, they still got to achieve 15 wins at least, meaning they need 7 or 8 wins, in order to make the NIT OR NCAA's. Can they do it?

It seems that Pringle and Battle get better every time they are on the court. Possibly for once the future looks bright for the basketball team.

Re: Nice win for PSU hoops last night...
After today's win at Illinois the Nittany Lions already matched last years Big Ten win total and are now 2-0 in the Big Ten and both the games were on the road. They have a great opportunity to open up the conference 3-0 with hosting Minnesota saturday.

Re: Nice win for PSU hoops last night...
Even as a Nittany Lion fan, I do feel bad about the luck of the Panthers this year. They at the beginning of the year had a shot at an Elite 8 or Final Four. Now, they will be around .500 in the Big East and be probably a 6 seed or worse in the Tourny. Being that low of a seed I feel probably a Sweet 16 is the best they can wish for at this point. Who knows, if the Nittany Lions can manage a tournament appearance somehow, maybe them and Pitt will play in say a 6-11, 7-10, 8-9 matchup.
