New PIAA Classifications

Post by CRSOCCR »

The new classifications are out for the next two years, and CR will be (A) class for this cycle. That means they will be in with all ofthe District 5 teams except for Bedford and Windber will remain (AA). We will miss playing the schools in the 5/6 districts, but it will be interesting competing against D-5 teams in the playoffs.

I liked playing in the AA class, it made for some very good playoff games against some tough teams, but I am sure the D-5 playoffs will be even more exciting because we will have played these teams at least once and know each other well. Here are the classifications from the PIAA webpage.

218 A Chestnut Ridge High School 5
215 A Forbes Road High School 5
204 A North Star High School 5
180 A Everett Area High School 5
172 A Berlin Brothersvalley High School 5
163 A Salisbury Elk Lick High School 5
142 A Rockwood Area High School 5
138 A Northern Bedford County High School 5
132 A Conemaugh Township Area High School 5
131 A Mcconnellsburg High School 5
86 A Fannett Metal High School 5
50 A Hyndman High School 5
25 A Johnstown Christian High School 5

279 AA Windber Area High School 5
272 AA Bedford High School 5

i guess this won't change their schedule at all? maybe get to see CT in the regular season? i always wanted to play them back in high school, that was when they were the cream of the crop from 5 A, not sure if they are anymore.

Yes, they should still be on the schedule, but all soccer teams will go down to just 18 games next year.

All soccer teams will only have 18 games next year, so some rivalry games may be lost to scheduling conflicts.

no, less games does not mean a shorter season.
