 AGAIN I SAY: What the WH coach did was and is POOR SPORTSMANSHIP! Taking your team home after a disappointing and maybe an unfair loss, is not the way to handle the situation. That is the way life is sometimes good, sometimes bad.........Deal With It.

It's done with. Odd decision - yes. Is this some kind of pattern at Westmont - no.

One instance does not make someone classless, consistency does.

If they took the title away from Richland, then why is there still a banner hanging in the gym calling them D-6 Champs 2006???

I don't know? Why does Richland still have the trophey as well in their display infront of the gym? BUT in the program at the duals and in the Tribune-Democrat i says they won it in 2006. Hmmm.

actually richland won the dual and individual titles that year, the banner and trophy are for the individual so they are district champs for that year

Their has been talk of punishing Westmonte for walking out on the duals. Such things as not allowing them to participate next year have been suggested. Although I do not agree with walking out in protest, I do not agree with punishing them either. It is up to each individual school/team whether to participate or not. If they chose to forfeit in order to keep their wrestlers from getting injured or because they were going to a school dance, would there still be talk of punishing them?

Bottom line is they chose to compete! I am sure Claysburg would have loved for the chance for their young team to have the opportunity for 2 matches in the district finals whether it was for 1st and 2nd or 3rd and 4th. If they have a wrestler or 2 that they choose to hold out against Huntingdon then so be it but to use your terms they went to the dance so finish the dance til its over

My take on these refs: All regular season, there is 1 ref/ match. Come districts, there are 2/ match. Does this mean the wrestlers and fans get better officiating? There used to be 2 refs per game in D6 hoops. Now there are 3. Are the games officiated any better? Personally speaking, NO. And the schools have to shell out that extra fee for the extra official. Every game/ match. Shouldn't everyone concerned get a better service for their money? Just askin'.

i will say this about the mount union/westmont match..yes we all have different points on how "questionable" the call was..rosensteel however was pretty banged up for he didnt say he couldnt continue..the trainer said he couldnt continue because she said he showed signs of concussion..also he had blurred vision..but u must also agree the refs werent one sided in giving out bad calls that night there were a few times mount union could have recieved some much needed bonus that just werent given to them..so yes the call was questionable but there were ref mistakes on both sides that could of turned that match a whole nother direction for both teams
