Re: McCort's new Recruiting Coordinator
Boy im surprised im the first one to catch my math mistake....20 years times 4 Classes is 80 Championships! so 11 out of 80 championships....which is about 13.75%...and 10% of the schools are private...i guess thats still even worse of an advantage!

The fact that six of those teams won multiple times though... Idk still sounds like a bit of an advantage... Any numbers on the other sports?? Take into account the other sports and im sure youll see that there are a good many private schools winning perhaps more of their fair share of state championships in sports.

Agree 100%Eaglealum wrote:To me it would; someone else using my taxdollars. I like private schools; I just think they should either have their own state playoffs like the old days or all be in AAAA.
Other sports...Milton Hershey girls Track has won the state meet for over 15 years in a row. We **** about the catholic schools but the private academies like MH, Glen Mills, George Jr., Scotland, MMA, are worse when it comes to recruiting.

Just because there is a sport you did not do well in or your school doesnt do well in does not mean people do not care.

The thing with private schools, such as mccort, having a recruiting coordinator results in an unfair advantage that public schools wouldn't otherwise have. I'm not saying that recruiting in high school results in state titles or overall success, but it definitely gives teams and advantage---being able to pull good athletes out of public schools. Say what you want, but it's just not fair.

I don't know if I would call Glen Mills or GJR private "academies" or not!!
Good story on Geo. Jr. about 15 yrs. ago. Their best basketball player was up for parole in mid-basketball season. When he got out and missed playing on his "AA" #1 ranked team and called his coach, word is he was encouraged to hold up a convenience store, or something of the like, so he could get sent back! Is that recruiting???

Can you make an official visit any time or do you have to wait until the 8th grade?
It's better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

You can make an official visit anytime, or you could wait for the next "Spirit Day", when they let all public school kids in for free.

Or you could establish a good tradition, i.e. FH, Tyrone, Windber. Their young men send their kids to the same h.s. for generations. Not quite as dramatic as Varsity Blues, but then again, Texas(although i hate to admit it) is probably the #1 state in hs football...
