Re: LHAC boys sweep district 6
There used to be a gentleman by the name of Eric King who used to run PA prep (AAU team) out of State College. I believe he has since moved from the area. He would rank kids on his website and get kids name out to colleges and prep services for a fee paid to him. He never had to see a guy play. Recommendation only. I know for a fact he called someone I am close to and wanted them to pay him a fee and he would get there name onto his site and he would rank him against others. He would use stats from Maxpreps if he didnt see him actually play.
I am not saying this is how BH got his name out there but it isnt as hard as people think to get your 'name' out there. I have a hard time believeing Florida and a couple others mentioned are "actively recruiting" a kid who played only a handful of games as a soph. Some people get "actively recruited" mixed up with receiving form letters from schools. Plus if Traino is a responsible coach he would tell the college coaches exactly what his injury is so they are not led on. I am sure Traino has done just that when Donavan and others have called him about BH. Again, I am not slamming BH or his ability to play. I just doubt the fact that some of the best D1 programs in the land want a kid with a bad back who has only played a handful of games his soph. year with a future that is unclear. He may be better suited to join his teammate and be future St. Francis teammates.

One other thing I would like to add about BH and the whole "actively" recruiting I am reading about. CC has an asst. coach with some contacts at D1 schools. I am sure he has called people and told them about BH w/out those schools actually coming and seeing him play. It is known around the LHAC that this asst. coach at CC likes to "talk" to alot of the opposing teams top players after games and tell them about his connections and what he can do for them. He is a minor league baseball rep. who has some D1 basketball connections. Xaviers head coach is from Pittsburgh and CC's asst. coach has close connections there so I am sure that is how they became involved in the recruiting process. But I have to wonder if Miller at Xavier knows BH only played a few games this year and has a very bad back. In my opinion the kid from CH (Vescovi) was more of a complete player than BH THIS year. He (Vescovi) is a better ball handler and dribbler. He can face the basket at 15 feet out and take it to the bucket better than BH. I am sure BH has some better attributes but I didnt see it THIS year.
BTW..does anyone know who does CC's stats during the game? Is it a student or parent? Or does the coach watch the film and take stats from the game tape? Just curious.

Does this certain coach happen to be a players dad?
