Steelers '08

Post by Dfense wins games »

With Big Ben's plead for a tall reciever and desperate need for a Safety, look no further than the New England Patriots. Stallworth and Asante Samuel are both Free Agents this year, tho they carry a pricetag, that might be just what the Steelers need. Addressing Line issues is another story. Many predictions have been made for who the Steelers will sign first and second round. I wouldnt be surprised to see the line being addressed in 2 of the first 3 rounds.

Asante is going to come with a $10 million price tag. I can't see the Steelers dishing that out to him. Also, all 6"0' of Donte Stallworth wouldn't be a tall receiver. They would be a lot better off trying to get Limas Sweed in the draft. I doubt he drops the whole way down to the Steelers, though.

Who is tall receiver out of Oklahoma? He was a senior this year and I think he was #4, he looked impressive all year. Also, don't they have a tall receiver in Nate Washington that is on the verge of a breakout season? It has to come sooner or later, hopefully sooner. As for the lineman it looks a semi-good draft class and that NEEDS to be their #1 priority, their line looked like a group of blind squirrels looking for nuts when it came to picking up the blitz. Half the time they couldn't even block the front 4 let alone the linebackers.

Was that Hardy from Indiana a senior this year? He would be great to go along with Ward and Holmes. Plus, i would doubt the Steelers would have to waist a first round pick on him either.

With their schedule, they will be lucky to finish 8-8. That being said, would be a perfect season to draft linemen topheavy; price is better, compared to skilled positions, and a year to develope. If they go lineheavy in the draft, sign a cxouple key guys upfront(defensive line too) they could percievably go 10-6 or 9-7 this year, and go to the show in 2009.Key factor being, I have no clue how deep the draft is in the trenches. That will be the decideing factor, no matter what you can say about P-burgh, they are sharp on draft day. Woodley and Timmons will be huge in '08, they could help save this season if they have the dedication.........My biggest thing about this offseason has 2 main concerns. GET A dang CENTER!!! and get a clue on special teams....PLEASE!

Well the Stillers dont need much in the specialist department,in the oline dline department they are lacking. Their needs are at least 2 olinemen and at least 1 dlineman. They may be able to pick up a couple D2 players as free agents but you never know. I actually heard that the D2 oline dline pool has some decent depth to it. With that said however, the draft will be handled with normal Steelers front office undertakings. Meaning that they will draft the best avaliable. With that said I figure you will see them draft anyone and everyone. If Dan Conor slips theyll grab him, if Slaton goes to the second day i could see it happening. First round predictions for me are maybe Connor if he slips maybe a lineman but i doubt it. Since Kemuatu sp? never really panned ill be surprised if they use their first 3 picks on lineman.

HALLELUJAH!!! The steelers signed Carolinas' center....my wish list is being filled; for the cherry on top, they can draft 2 more and a good young rb for insurance and to get rid of Haynes and Davenport.
